  1. 6. Offline Task Scheduling in a Three-layer Edge-Cloud Architecture

    Författare :Ayeh Mahjoubi; Karl-Johan Grinnemo; Arunselvan Ramaswamy; Alessandro Papadopoulos; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; task offloading; task scheduling; edge computing; internet of things; optimization techniques; heuristics; meta-heuristics; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Internet of Things (IoT) devices are increasingly being used everywhere, from the factory to the hospital to the house to the car. IoT devices typically have limited processing resources, so they must rely on cloud servers to accomplish their tasks. Thus, many obstacles need to be overcome while offloading tasks to the cloud. 2. 7. Understanding Consumer Choices in Multichannel Retailing

    Författare :Svetlana Kolesova; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The growth of multichannel retailing has demonstrated the need for retailers to ensure a deep understanding of how consumer choices differ across online and offline channels. To guide and accommodate changing consumer needs, retailers must reconsider their strategies in a way that fits the contemporary multichannel environment and is grounded in insights about consumers. Sammanfattning : Multi-objective optimization involves the simultaneous optimization of several objective functions. In real-world problems, these objectives are often in conflict, giving rise to trade-offs in the optimal solutions from the optimization process. All these solutions are equally viable, with no single solution being better or worse than the others. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : A written language is represented by using machine-printed or handwritten symbols called characters. For automatic recognition of written languages, handwritten script can be captured offline (by a scanner) and online (by electronic digital devices), whereas machine-printed text is captured offline. Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores ways in which “queer digital media use” co-produces senses of space, time, and queer being in contemporary Russia. Considering the particular implications of (in)visibility for queer living, and the importance of compartmentalizing conflicting spheres, the study provides a grounded account of queer life lived with and through digital media in a context currently characterized by “anti-gay” sentiments.
