  1. 31. Polyphenols in Swedish berries and pulses : Characterization and in vivo effects of fractions from lingonberries and brown beans in an Apoe-/- mouse model

    Författare :Jiyun Liu; Cornelia Witthöft; Anne-Maria Pajari; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; lingonberry; brown bean; flavonoids; phenolic acids; dietary fiber; HPLC-UV MS; atherosclerotic plaque; plasma lipid; gut microbiota; short-chain fatty acids; trimethylamine N-oxide; Apoe- - mice; lingon; bruna bönor; flavonoider; fenolsyror; kostfiber; HPLCUV MS; aterosklerotisk plaketter; plasmalipid; tarm-mikrobiota; kortkedjiga fettsyror; trimetylamin N-oxid; Apoe- - möss; Livsmedelsvetenskap; Food Science;

    Sammanfattning : Consumption of berries and pulses can protect against atherosclerosis and other metabolic diseases, by modulating plasma lipid profile, gut microbiota, and microbiota-dependent metabolites. These nutritional benefits are often attributed to high content of polyphenols (flavonoids and phenolic acids) and dietary fiber. LÄS MER

  2. 32. On the estrablishment of effective condition monitoring parameters for copper corrosion problems in mineral oil-filled electrical transformers

    Författare :Ramsey Jadim; Mirka Kans; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; condition monitoring parameters; corrosion problems; sulfur deposits; corrosion reaction mechanisms; transformer failures; CBM.; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The power transformer is a critical equipment in which the protection process is essential for modern societies where continuous electric power supplies are required. Copper corrosion problems due to the formation of sulfur deposits on the copper windings of mineral oil-filled power transformers are considered a major issue that can lead to sudden failures, and in some cases, to costly fire and explosion accidents in the power plants. 3. 33. Abundance and fractionation of rare earth elements in calcite and other secondary minerals in fractures in the upper kilometre of crystalline bedrock, SE Sweden

    Författare :Olga M. Maskenskaya; Mats Åström; Kjell Billström; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; secondary minerals; rare earth elements; isotopes; crystalline bedrock;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the geochemistry of secondary minerals, mainly calcite but also others such as fluorite and Ca/Al silicates, precipitated throughout the last 1.5 billion years in fractures of crystalline rock, SE Sweden. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Polyelectrolyte complexes of bottle brush copolymers : Solution and adsorption properties

    Författare :Shovsky Alexander; Per M. Claesson; Tommy Nylander; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis work was to systematically investigate the physico-chemical properties of polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) formed by bottle brush and linear polyelectrolytes in solution and at solid / liquid interfaces. Electrostatic self-assembly of oppositely charged macromolecules in aqueous solution is a versatile strategy to construction of functional nanostructures with easily controlled properties. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Diaryliodonium Salts : Synthesis, Applications and Computational Investigations

    Författare :Marcus Reitti; Berit Olofsson; Michael Greaney; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; diaryliodonium salt; hypervalent iodine; density functional theory; aryne; phenol; nitroarene; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Organic chemists have the ability to create complex organic molecules by connecting molecular building blocks in different ways. To name a few, these molecules are used as medicines, pesticides or in our household electronics, and are therefore crucial to life as we know it. LÄS MER
