    Författare :Anna K Andersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Winter road condition; Slipperiness; Traffic accident; Winter road maintenance; Climate change;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the distribution of slippery roads in Sweden and the UK for the present climate and how this may be affected by climate change for the rest of the century. It also addresses future scenarios for traffic accidents and winter road maintenance. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Space and Sensibility : Young Men’s Risk-Taking with Motor Vehicles

    Författare :Tanja Joelsson; Jeff Hearn; Carina Listerborn; Aretun Åsa; Tracey Skelton; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Gender; masculinity; age; class; place; spatial boredom; risk‐taking; violence; violations; ethnography; Kön; maskulinitet; ålder; klass; plats; rumslig tristess; risktagande; våld; kränkning; etnografi;

    Sammanfattning : In this ethnographic study of “Volvo greasers” [Volvoraggare] in a peri-urban community in Sweden, risk-taking practices with motor vehicles, such as speeding and drifting, are explored and analyzed in relation to age, gender, class and place. Young men’s risk-taking with motor vehicles regularly generates public debate as a traffic safety issue, often resulting in various policy suggestions, such as curfews or raising of the driving licence age. Sammanfattning : Aim: To examine the causes and consequences of road traffic injuries in children from a physical and psychosocial perspective, and to identify unfavourable circumstances and children who are at risk of injury and disability. Methods: Study I was a systematic review of the literature on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and PTSD symptoms (PTSS) in children injured in road traffic accidents. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Searching for causal effects of road traffic safety interventions : applications of the interrupted time series design

    Författare :Carl Bonander; Ragnar Andersson; Finn Nilson; Claes Tingvall; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Causal inference; Repeated measures; Methodology; Econometrics; Injury Epidemiology; Vulnerable Road Users; Time series analysis; Risk- och Miljöstudier; Risk and Environmental Studies;

    Sammanfattning : Traffic-related injuries represent a global public health problem, and contribute largely to mortality and years lived with disability worldwide. Over the course of the last decades, improvements to road traffic safety and injury surveillance systems have resulted in a shift in focus from the prevention of motor vehicle accidents to the control of injury events involving vulnerable road users (VRUs), such as cyclists and moped riders. 5. 10. Material Modelling of Adipose Tissue for Traffic Injury Prevention

    Författare :Hosein Naseri; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite element human body models; Global sensitivity analysis; Obesity; Adipose tissue; Constitutive modelling; Submarining;

    Sammanfattning : Traffic injury is one of the main reasons for traumatic injuries. Obese occupants are among the vulnerable populations with a higher risk of death and severe injuries. Notably, obesity is associated with a thick layer of subcutaneous adipose (fat) tissue. LÄS MER
