    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a contribution to feminist laboratory studies and a critical engagement with the natural sciences, or more precisely research on the biochemical workings and deadly relations of Alzheimer’s disease emanating from a year of field work in a Drosophila fly lab. The natural sciences have been a point of fascination within the field of gender studies for decades. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Life and Death of Mixed Metal Halide Perovskites : Mechanism and Consequences of Light Induced Halide Segregation in MAPb(I,Br)3

    Författare :Klara Suchan; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phase segregation; X-ray diffraction; perovskite; solar cells; photoluminescence;

    Sammanfattning : Metal halide perovskites have attracted immense scientific interest due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties over a widebandgap range. Applications cover a wide range of optoelectronic devices from solar cells, LEDs and lasers to X-ray detectors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A matter of context : social inequalities in incidence of myocardial infarction

    Författare :Maria Kölegård Stjärne; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Myocardial infarction; social context; area deprivation; neighbourhood; multi-level;

    Sammanfattning : Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death and makes the separate largest contribution to social inequalities in the burden of disease in Sweden. The purpose of this dissertation is to study the potential influences of local social environment on incidence of myocardial infarction (MI), thereby contributing to understanding of the social aetiology of MI. Sammanfattning : Essay 1: People’s planning to evade the inheritance tax curtails its merits. However, the extent of planning remains a matter of argument. According to popular belief, it is widespread, but few estimates have been presented. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Deposit-feeding in benthic macrofauna : Tracer studies from the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Lars Byrén; Ragnar Elmgren; Lisa A. Levin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Deposit-feeding; Macrofauna; Baltic Sea; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : A low content of organic matter, which is largely refractory in nature, is characteristic of most sediments, meaning that aquatic deposit-feeders live on a very poor food source. The food is derived mainly from sedimenting phytodetritus, and in temperate waters like the Baltic Sea, from seasonal phytoplankton blooms. LÄS MER
