Sammanfattning :
Adenovirus serotype 5 (Ad5) is widely used as an oncolytic agent for cancer therapy. However, its infectivity is highly dependent on the expression level of coxsackievirus-adenovirus receptor (CAR) on the surface of tumor cells. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning :
Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is a mosquito-borne virus which has the ability to infect a large variety of animals including humans in Africa and Arabian Peninsula. The abortion rate among these animals are close to 100%, and young animals develop severe disease which often are lethal. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning :
Puumala viruses, a member of the Hantavirus genus in the Bunyaviridae family, are enveloped by a lipid bilayer and possesses a tripartite single stranded RNA genome with negative polarity. The hantaviruses encode four proteins: a nucleocapsid protein (N), two membrane spanning glycoproteins (GN and GC) and a RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). LÄS MER

Sammanfattning :
Long terminal repeats (LTRs) are non-coding repeats flanking the protein-coding genes of LTR retrotransposons. The variability of LTRs poses a challenge in studying them. Hidden Markov models (HMMs), probabilistic models widely used in pattern recognition, are useful in dealing with this variability. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning :
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an RNA virus that causes chronic infection, which can lead to hepatocellular carcinomas in humans. Besides liver diseases, the chronic HCV infection causes a broad spectrum of extrahepatic complications such as lymphoproliferative, metabolic and autoimmune disorders. LÄS MER
