  1. 1. Replication-competent adenovirus 11p vector as a new oncolytic agent

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Jim Silver; Umeå universitet.; Umeå universitet.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Virologi; Adenovirus; Vector; mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Human adenoviruses (Ads) as vectors have been studied for cancer gene therapy for several decades due to their ability to shut down host cell replication and lyse tumour cells. Ad5 of species C is commonly used as a replication-defective or a replication-competent vector. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Human antibody responses to hantavirus recombinant proteins & development of diagnostic methods

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Fredrik Elgh; Umeå universitet.; [1996]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Puumala virus; hantavirus infections; recombinant proteins; capsid; humoral immunity; immunoassay;

    Sammanfattning : Rodent-borne hantaviruses (family Bunyaviridae) cause two distinct human infections; hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS). HFRS is a common viral zoonosis, characterized by fever, renal dysfunction and hemostatic imbalance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Functional characterization of the human adenovirus pVII protein and non-coding VA RNAI

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Raviteja Inturi; Uppsala universitet.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adenovirus; VA RNA; protein VII; Ubiquitination; proteasome; anti-viral; Medical Biochemistry; Medicinsk biokemi; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology; Medical Virology; Medicinsk virologi;

    Sammanfattning : Human adenovirus (HAdV) is a common pathogen causing a broad spectrum of diseases. HAdV encodes the pVII protein, which is involved in nuclear delivery, protection and expression of viral DNA. To suppress the cellular interferon (IFN) and RNA interference (RNAi) systems, HAdVs encode non-coding virus-associated (VA) RNAs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Rift Valley fever consequences of virus-host interactions

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Maria Baudin; Umeå universitet.; [2016]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rift Valley fever; Rift Valley fever virus; viral haemorrhagic fever; miscarriage; entry; charge; carbohydrates; high-throughput screening; antiviral; cell-based assay; medicinsk virologi; Medical Virology;

    Sammanfattning : Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is a mosquito-borne virus which has the ability to infect a large variety of animals including humans in Africa and Arabian Peninsula. The abortion rate among these animals are close to 100%, and young animals develop severe disease which often are lethal. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Implications of Local Puumala Hantavirus Genetics and Epidemiology for Diagnostics and Vaccine Development

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Klinisk mikrobiologi

    Författare :Patrik Johansson; Umeå universitet.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Communicable diseases; hantavirus; Puumala virus; nephropathia epidemica; genome sequence; glycosylation; linear DNA vaccine; microarray; identification; genetic variability; Infektionssjukdomar; MEDICINE Microbiology; immunology; infectious diseases Infectious diseases; MEDICIN Mikrobiologi; immunologi; infektionssjukdomar Infektionssjukdomar; medicinsk virologi; Medical Virology;

    Sammanfattning : Puumala viruses, a member of the Hantavirus genus in the Bunyaviridae family, are enveloped by a lipid bilayer and possesses a tripartite single stranded RNA genome with negative polarity. The hantaviruses encode four proteins: a nucleocapsid protein (N), two membrane spanning glycoproteins (GN and GC) and a RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). LÄS MER
