  2. 2. The hepatitis B virus – Insights into genetic variability, evolution and Bayesian phylogeographic inference

Detta är en avhandling från Lund University, Faculty of Medicine

Författare :Mikael Ingman; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2018]

Sammanfattning : In terms of genome size, the hepatitis B virus is the smallest virus known to infect humans and its compactness with multiple overlapping reading frames puts restraints on the emergence of mutations. In the papers included in this thesis we aimed to investigate genetic variation within the precore and core promoter region and to describe the origin, spread and diversification of HBV genotype A. 3. 3. Implications of Local Puumala Hantavirus Genetics and Epidemiology for Diagnostics and Vaccine Development

Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Klinisk mikrobiologi

Författare :Patrik Johansson; Umeå universitet.; [2005]

Sammanfattning : Puumala viruses, a member of the Hantavirus genus in the Bunyaviridae family, are enveloped by a lipid bilayer and possesses a tripartite single stranded RNA genome with negative polarity. The hantaviruses encode four proteins: a nucleocapsid protein (N), two membrane spanning glycoproteins (GN and GC) and a RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Gene therapy has received much attention the last decade as a method to correct a number of disorders arising from a defective gene. Gene therapy can be defined as the introduction of a functional genetic element into a cell for a therapeutic purpose. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Rift Valley fever consequences of virus-host interactions

Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

Författare :Maria Baudin; Umeå universitet.; [2016]

Sammanfattning : Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is a mosquito-borne virus which has the ability to infect a large variety of animals including humans in Africa and Arabian Peninsula. The abortion rate among these animals are close to 100%, and young animals develop severe disease which often are lethal. LÄS MER
