  1. 21. On the autonomic control of the lower urinary tract. Functional and morphological aspects in the normal and the inflamed urinary bladder

    Författare :Daniel Giglio; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; muscarinic receptor; purinoceptor; adrenoceptor; nitric oxide; in vitro; in vivo; cystometry; Western blot; immunohistochemistry; cystitis; cyclophosphamide; urinary bladder; rat;

    Sammanfattning : The regulation of urinary bladder function involves interplay of signalling systems. Disturbances in any of the interactive systems may result in lower tract dysfunction, which is often apparent to the patient by urge to void or by incontinence, irrespectively of the cause to the lower tract syndrome. 2. 22. Physiopathological aspects of NMDA transmission in the basal ganglia : in vitro and in vivo release studies

    Författare :Michele Morari; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :basal ganglia; NMDA; dizocilpine; microdialysis; slices; synaptosomes; dopamine; acetylcholine; glutamate; GABA; 6OH-dopamine;

    Sammanfattning : N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) is an excitatory amino acid selectively acting on a subclass of glutamate receptors (the NMDA ionotropic receptor) which has been involved in many of the physiological and pathological effects of glutamate in the CNS. The basal ganglia are particularly enriched in NMDA receptors and NMDA receptor activation in the basal ganglia has been involved in the expression of motor behaviour. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Generation of induced neurons via direct conversion in vivo and in vitro

    Författare :Olof Torper; Neurobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cellular reprogramming; cell replacement therapies; induced dopaminergic neurons; in vivo reprogramming; Lentiviral vectors; AAV vectors;

    Sammanfattning : Cellular reprogramming is when one cell is changed into another. This involves structural modifications on the DNA of a cell resulting in a transcriptional change. This occurs naturally during development when early pluripotent cells gradually differentiate into more specialized cells that finally result in a complete organism. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Biophysical studies of the actin-myosin motor system and applications in nanoscience

    Författare :Mohammad A. Rahman; Alf Månsson; Kazuhiro Oiwa; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; myosin II; actin; actomyosin force generating cycle; blebbistatin; in vitro motility assay; actin affinity purification; blocking actin; bionanodevices; proteinase k; SDS; triton X100; surface recycling; engineered myosin motor; programmable gate; biocomputation.; Biomedical Sciences; Biomedicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The actin-myosin motor system plays important roles in cellular processes. In addition, actin and myosin have been used for developments towards nanotechnological applications in recent years. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Biopharmaceutical investigations of doxorubicin formulations used in liver cancer treatment : Studies in healthy pigs and liver cancer patients, combined with pharmacokinetic and biopharmaceutical modelling

    Författare :Ilse R Dubbelboer; Hans Lennernäs; Erik Sjögren; Hartmut Derendorf; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; drug delivery system; in vivo release; PBPK modelling; hepatocellular carcinoma; doxorubicin; transarterial chemoembolization; drug disposition; Biofarmaci; Biopharmaceutics; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : There are currently two types of drug formulation in clinical use in the locoregional treatment of intermediate hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In the emulsion LIPDOX, the cytostatic agent doxorubicin (DOX) is dissolved in the aqueous phase, which is emulsified with the oily contrast agent Lipiodol® (LIP). LÄS MER
