  1. 46. Finite Difference Methods for Time-Dependent Wave Propagation Problems

    Författare :Ylva Ljungberg Rydin; Ken Mattsson; Erik Sjöqvist; Magnus Svärd; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Finite differences; Wave propagation problems; Summation-by-parts; Simultaneous approximation term; High-order accuracy; Deforming domains; Point sources; Scientific Computing; Beräkningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Wave propagation models are essential in many fields of physics, such as acoustics, electromagnetics, and quantum mechanics. Mathematically, waves can be described by partial differential equations (PDEs).  In most cases, exact solutions to wave-dominated PDEs are nearly impossible to derive. LÄS MER

  2. 47. On laser Doppler flowmetry : methods and microvascular applications

    Författare :Torsten Tenland; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : A laser Doppler flowmeter for non-invasive microcirculatory blood flow studies has been developed. The tissue under study is illuminated by laser light (helium-neon laser, output power 2 mW) via an optical fibre and the Doppler shift oflight scattered in moving red cells is analysed. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Silicon nanowires (SiNW) are in the spotlight for a few years in the research community as a good candidate for biosensing applications. This is attributed to their small dimensions in nanometer scale that offers high sensitivity, label-free detection and at the same time utilizing small amount of sample. LÄS MER

  4. 49. Higher order finite difference methods for wave propagation problems

    Författare :Eva Mossberg; Bertil Gustafsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Numerical Analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : Wave propagation is described by the wave equation, or in the time-periodic case, by the Helmholtz equation. For problems with small wavelengths, high order discretizations must be used to resolve the solution. Two different techniques for finding compact finite difference schemes of high order are studied and compared. LÄS MER

  5. 50. High order difference approximations for the linearized Euler equations

    Författare :Stefan Johansson; Bernhard Müller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Beräkningsvetenskap med inriktning mot numerisk analys; Scientific Computing with specialization in Numerical Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The computers of today make it possible to do direct simulation of aeroacoustics, which is very computational demanding since a very high resolution is needed.In the present thesis we study issues of relevance for aeroacoustic simulations. Paper A considers standard high order difference methods. LÄS MER
