  1. 11. The Language of English Newspaper Editorials from a 20th-Century Perspective

    Författare :Ingrid Westin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; English language; 20th-century English; corpus linguistics; diachronic studies; dimensions of variation; editorials; newspapers; textual dimensions; Engelska; English language; Engelska språket; English; engelska;

    Sammanfattning : This work is a corpus-based study of the language of English up-market ("quality") newspaper editorials, covering the period 1900-1993. CENE, the Corpus of English Newspaper Editorials, was compiled for the purposes of this study and comprises editorials from the Daily Telegraph, the Guardian, and The Times chosen to represent periods at ten-year intervals. 2. 12. Managing Geometrical Variation through Optimization and Visualization

    Författare :Johan Lööf; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; variation simulation; tolerancing; Tolerance allocation; locating scheme optimization; geometry assurance; visualization of variation; tolerance analysis;

    Sammanfattning : All manufacturing processes are afflicted by variation that causes deviations in critical dimensions in the final product. Geometrical variation results in form and size deviation in individual parts. Assembly variation comes from defects in assembly equipment, and influence how parts are mounted together. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Visualizing the Effects of Geometrical Variation on Perceived Quality in Early Phases

    Författare :Ola S Wagersten; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geometrical variation; geometry assurance; non-rigid; product development; tolerance analysis; variation simulation; visualization and evaluation.; perceived quality;

    Sammanfattning : In a perfect world, geometrical variation in a manufacturing process would not exist. Every component produced in a series would have the exact same dimensions and, when observed by a trained eye, look exactly identical. However, the world is not perfect and neither are manufacturing processes. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Learning physics with Controllable Worlds : Perspectives for examining and augmenting physics students' engagement with digital learning environments

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I present a collection of case studies involving small groups of participants using ‘Controllable Worlds’—i.e., a particular class of physics digital learning environment (DLE) including simulations, ‘microworlds,’ and educational games that provides users with control over manipulable virtual environments.
