26. Structural and synthetic studies on peptide analogues to the cell adhesive sequence RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp)
Sammanfattning : Fibronectin is a cell adhesive protein with many different biological functions. The cell adhesive properties have been ascribed on a small polypeptide sequence RGD (Arginine-Glycine-Aspartic acid) also found in other cell adhesive proteins. LÄS MER
27. Methodological studies in solid phase synthesis : Linkers and applications of multi-component condensations
Sammanfattning : Solid phase synthesis has become an increasingly important tool in the synthesis of oligopolymers and small organic molecules. This thesis covers three important areas in the solid phase synthesis technique: linker strategies, reduction methods and novel routes to complex heterocycles. LÄS MER
28. Recipient and Donor Characteristics - Impact on Outcome after Heart Transplantation
Sammanfattning : Heart transplantation (HTx) is severely limited by a shortage of donors. This thesis aimed to investigate the effectof variables used to match donors to recipients in HTx.Methods: Data from the ISHLT registry was used to study: I: Identical versus compatible non-identical ABOmatchingin 3,589 AB HTx recipients. 29. The use of molecular markers for identifying species diversity and functional variation of ectomycorrhizal fungi
Sammanfattning : Ectomycorrhiza (EM) is a symbiosis between soil living fungi and the roots of woody plants. EM fungal communities are important in forest nutrient cycling, they are species rich and their structures vary between habitats and over time. LÄS MER
30. MRI assessment of haemophilic arthropathy
Sammanfattning : Haemophilia is a recessive genetic bleeding disorder in which coagulation time is prolonged due to the absence or malfunction of either of the serum proteins Factor VIII or IX. Joint destruction following repeated haemarthroses is the main cause of morbidity in haemophiliacs, and such arthropathy can be prevented or postponed by implementing prophylactic therapy with factor concentrate at an early age.
