1. The material distribution method : analysis and acoustics applications
Sammanfattning : For the purpose of numerically simulating continuum mechanical structures, different types of material may be represented by the extreme values {,1}, where 0.... LÄS MER
2. Fast-Neutron Tomography using a Mobile Neutron Generator for Assessment of Steam-Water Distributions in Two-Phase Flows
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the measurement technique of fast-neutron tomography for assessing spatial distributions of steam and water in two-phase flows. This so-called void distribution is of importance both for safe operation and for efficient use of the fuel in light water reactors, which compose the majority of the world’s commercial nuclear reactors. 3. Structural Uncertainties of Rock Fractures and their Effect on Flow and Tracer Transport
4. Adhesive Joints in Timber Engineering. Modelling and Testing of Fracture Properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis, which is a compilation of seven papers, concerns the mechanical testing, numerical analysis and constitutive modelling of wood-adhesive bonds in timber engineering. Applications such as finger-joints, glued-laminated timber and glued-in rods are considered. LÄS MER
5. Influence of microstructure on fatigue and ductility properties of tool steels
Sammanfattning : Fatigue and ductility properties in various tool steels, produced by powder metallurgy, spray forming or conventionally ingot casting, have been analysed experimentally and successfully compared to developed models. The models are able to predict the fatigue limit and cause for fatigue fracture, and strain- and stress-development until fracture during the ductile fracture process respectively. LÄS MER
