  1. 1. Wood Fingerprints Recognition of Sawn Wood Products

    Detta är en avhandling från Luleå tekniska universitet

    Författare :Tobias Pahlberg; [2014]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träproduktutveckling; Wood Products Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with wood fingerprints and presents ways to track sawn wood products through an industrial process using cameras. The possibility to identify individual wood products comes from the biological variation of the trees, where the genetic code, environment and breakdown process creates a unique appearance for every board. 2. 2. Adhesion to machined and laser ablated wood surfaces

    Detta är en avhandling från Institutionen för produktionssystem

    Författare :Micael Stehr; [1999]
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; ablation; adhesion; checks; coating; cracks; excimer laser; gluing; IR laser; mechanical machining; mechanical weak boundary layer; microscopy; notched specimens; pine; planing; sample preparation; sawing; scanning electronmicroscopy; spruce; tip-cracks; UV laser; weak boundary layer; wood;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a contribution to the R&D-program ValueActivation at KTH,Division of Wood Technology and Processingand containsfive papers related to the evaluation and development ofmachining techniques (mechanical and irradiation treatments)whereby weak boundaries at the wood surfaces in the form of(mechanical) weak boundary layers and (micro) cracks due tomechanical treatment can be avoided.The first paper describes the development of a method–using a UV laser–to study the mechanically weakenedboundaries. 3. 3. Wood Hemicelluloses - Fundamental Insights on Biological and Technical Properties

    Detta är en avhandling från Institutionen för produktionssystem

    Författare :Jennie Berglund; Mikael Lindström; Gunnar Henriksson; Francisco Vilaplana; Jakob Wohlert; Martin Lawoko; Maija Tenkanen; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; hemicellulose; wood; glucomannan; xylan; structure; acetylation; flexibility; solubility; interaction with cellulose; stability.; hemicellulosa; trä; glukomannan; xylan; struktur; acetylering; flexibilitet; löslighet; interaktion med cellulosa; stabilitet.; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Hemicelluloses are a group of heterogeneous polysaccharides representing around 30 % of wood where the dominating types are xylans, glucomannans and xyloglucans. Hemicelluloses complex molecular structure makes it difficult to understand the relationship between structure and properties entirely, and their biological role is not yet fully verified. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Characterization, toxicity and treatment of wood leachate generated outdoors by the wood-based industry

    Detta är en avhandling från Växjö : Linnaeus University Press

    Författare :Henric Svensson; [2014]
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Wood leachate; Log yard runoff; Stormwater; Toxicity; Artemia salina; Vibrio fischeri; Constructed wetlands; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Wood is a natural raw material, and would hardly be considered a risk to the environment. However, the handling of wood materials on an industrial scale has been shown to have a negative impact on water bodies that run-off from industrial sites that process wood-based materials. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fine stream wood effects on drift and brown trout (Salmo trutta) growth and behaviour

    Detta är en avhandling från Karlstad University Press

    Författare :Åsa Enefalk; Eva Bergman; Anders Nilsson; Stanley Gregory; [2016]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stream fish; wood; salmonid; trout; aquatic invertebrates; behaviour; sheltering; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Stream ecosystems and their riparian zones have previously been regarded as two different ecosystems, linked through numerous reciprocal subsidies. Today, ecologists agree that the stream and the riparian zone should be regarded as one system, the stream-riparian ecosystem, which is characterised largely by the subsidies between land and water.
