11. Development of in vitro and ex vivo positron-emitting tracer techniques and their application to neurotrauma
Sammanfattning : The use of positron-emitting tracers has been extended beyond tomographic facilities in the last few years, giving rise to a general positron-emitting tracing technique. The methodological part of the present thesis involved the evaluation of the performance of storage phosphor (SP) plates, with tracers labeled with high-energy, short-lived, positron-emitting radionuclides, using homogenized tissue specimens and autoradiography with frozen brain sections. 12. Immune moldulatory effects of intravenous immunoglobulin in vitro and after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation
Sammanfattning : Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) has been used in patients with immunodeficiencies and various autoimmune diseases. Its immune modulatory effect is well documented. In allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) IVIG has been used to reduce the incidence of infections and graft-versus-host-disease (GVHD). LÄS MER

15. Accurate techniques for 2D electromagnetic scattering
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three parts. The first part is an introduction and referencessome recent work on 2D electromagnetic scattering problems at high frequencies. It alsopresents the basic integral equation types for impenetrable objects. A brief discussionof the standard elements of the method of moments is followed by summaries of thepapers. LÄS MER
