  1. 11. Health promotional interventions informed by community-based participatory research in a socially disadvantaged neighbourhood : development, exploration and evaluation

    Författare :Rathi Ramji; Anders Kottorp; Margareta Rämgård; Elisabeth Carlson; Yolanda Suarez Balcazar; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Participatory Action Research; Quality of Life; Physical Activity; Oral Health; Vårdvetenskap; Care science;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to understand the impact of community-based participatory research-informed health promotional initiatives on the health of communities living in socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Southern Sweden. The thesis was part of a larger program, Health promotion, Innovation in Collaboration which was a community-based participatory research program aiming to create novel ways to improve health through participatory and collaborative strategies. 2. 12. Hemodynamic Effects of Lung Function Optimization in Experimental Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

    Författare :Arnoldo Santos; Anders Larsson; Fernando Suarez-Sipmann; John Marini; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute respiratory distress syndrome; Lung protective ventilation; Mechanical ventilation; Open lung approach; Pulmonary heart disease; Pulmonary vascular mechanics; Pulmonary vascular dysfunction; Pulse wave analysis; Right ventricular dysfunction; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care; Fysiologi; Physiology;

    Sammanfattning : Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a severe pulmonary inflammation affecting thousands of patients every year in Sweden and has a mortality of 30-50%. Mechanical ventilation (MV) is usually necessary, but could per se augment the inflammation and contribute to mortality. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Aspects of the ATLAS ITk Inner Tracker development for the high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider

    Författare :Jonas Steentoft; Richard Brenner; Rebeca Gonzalez Suarez; Matti Kalliokoski; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ATLAS ITk; Detector instrumentation; Applied physics; Fysik med inriktning mot elementarpartikelfysik; Physics with specialization in Elementary Particle Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The High Luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), necessitates that the ATLAS experiment replace their current Inner Detector (ID) system. The new Inner Tracker (ITk) will be an all silicon detector, utilising both pixel and strip sensors, with the aim of performing as well, or better than the current system - but in a much more challenging environment. 4. 14. 'Nisi temere agat' : Francisco Suárez on Final Causes and Final Causation

    Författare :Erik Åkerlund; Tomas Ekenberg; Henrik Lagerlund; Pauliina Remes; Helen Hattab; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Francisco Suárez; final causes; causality; ontology; metaphysics; intentionality; Francisco Suárez; ändamålsorsaker; kausalitet; ontologi; metafysik; intentionalitet; Philosophy; with specialization in history of philosophy; Filosofi med filosofihistorisk inriktning;

    Sammanfattning : The main thesis of this dissertation is that final causes are beings of reason (‘entia rationis’) in the philosophy of Francisco Suárez (1547-1617). The rejection of final causes is often seen as one of the hallmarks of Early Modern philosophy, marking the transition from an earlier Aristotelian tradition. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Metamorphism in the roots of mountain belts and its effect on rock technical properties : A case study of the Eastern Segment, Sveconorwegian orogen

    Författare :Cindy Urueña; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sveconorwegian; metamorphism; hydrous fluids; microtextures; recrystallization; aggregate properties;

    Sammanfattning : Deciphering the metamorphic evolution of the roots of mountain belts is essential for understanding deep tectonic processes involved in mountain building. The Sveconorwegian orogen in southwestern Scandinavia, formed during the Rodinia assembly in the transition between the Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic Eras, has been exhumed and provides access to interior deep structural levels of the ancient mountain belt.
