  1. 16. On the Validity of Reading Assessments: Relationships Between Teacher Judgements, External Tests and Pupil Self-Assessments

    Författare :Stefan Johansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Validity; Validation; Assessment; Teacher judgements; External tests; PIRLS 2001; Self-assessment; Multilevel models; Structural Equation Modeling; Socioeconomic status; Gender;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to examine validity issues in different forms of assessments; teacher judgements, external tests, and pupil self-assessment in Swedish primary schools. The data used were selected from a large-scale study––PIRLS 2001––in which more than 11000 pupils and some 700 teachers from grades 3 and 4 participated. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Tools for Control System Design : Stratification of Matrix Pairs and Periodic Riccati Differential Equation Solvers

    Författare :Stefan Johansson; Bo Kågström; Erik Elmroth; Paul Van Dooren; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; control system design; stratification; controllability; observability; matrix pair; canonical forms; linear quadratic regulator; periodic systems; periodic Riccati differential equation; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Numerical Analysis; numerisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : Modern control theory is today an interdisciplinary area of research. Just as much as this can be problematic, it also provides a rich research environment where practice and theory meet. This Thesis is conducted in the borderline between computing science (numerical analysis) and applied control theory. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Towards a framework to understand mental and cognitive accessibility in a digital context

    Författare :Stefan Johansson; Jan Gulliksen; Ann Lantz; Helene Petrie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accessibility; cognitive; mental; disability; design; universal design; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : This digitalization has in many ways contributed to greater inclusion but access to the digital community is not evenly distributed in the population, and we can see that groups of citizens do not feel involved in the transition to a digitalized society, or are not involved as much as they would actually like.The purpose of this thesis is to discuss how designers and developers to a greater extent can be able to take account of accessibility requirements for people with mental and cognitive impairments. Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the political dimensions of aesthetic expression during the Long Sixties. The thesis deals with amateur theatre ventures both within and linked to the social democratic labour movement. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Asymptotics of random matrices and matrix valued processes

    Författare :Stefan Israelsson; Kurt Johansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Random matrices; singular interaction; spectral distribution; fluctuation limit; distribution valued processes; MATEMATIK; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contains three parts. In the first two papers we consider spectral properties of symmetric matrices with elements consisting of independent Ornstein Uhlenbeck processes. The eigenvalues behave as a particle system on the real line with singular interaction consisting of electrostatic repulsion and a linear restoring force. LÄS MER
