  1. 36. Thermal Modelling of the Caledonian Basin, Scandinavia and a Northern North Sea Profile

    Författare :Jörgen Samuelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; petroleum; vitrinite reflectance; thermal maturation; flexural rigidity; heat flow; suppression; thermal conductivity; North West Shelf; Alum Shale;

    Sammanfattning : The reason for the registered high paleotemperatures of the Scandinavian Alum Shale was investigated by heat flow modelling constrained by vitrinite-like reflectance. The behaviour of the lithosphere under a load was modelled and the paleotemperatures were explained by burial of the Alum Shale in a foreland basin, developing during the Caledonian orogeny. LÄS MER

  2. 37. G protein-coupled receptor regulation: The role of protein interactions and receptor trafficking

    Författare :Caroline Sandén; Drug Target Discovery; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; receptor trafficking; B1 receptor; receptor oligomerization; estrogen; GPER1; G protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1; EP24.15; BK; bradykinin; B1R; B2R; B2 receptor; GPCR; receptor maturation;

    Sammanfattning : The superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) is the largest gene family in the human genome. GPCR-mediated signaling operates in every human cell, and about 50% of existing clinically useful drugs act through GPCR. LÄS MER

  3. 38. Selection and design in antibody phage display

    Författare :Jonas Persson; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; specificity fine-tuning.; phage display; MUC1; automated selection; antigenicity; antibody; affinity maturation;

    Sammanfattning : The immune system is an important part of the physiology of higher organisms. In the immune system antibodies play a key role in neutralizing and clearing potentially lethal threats from the environment. The importance of antibodies in the immune system has made them come to the attention as a tool in chemistry and medicine. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Mechanisms by which variants in the TCF7L2 gene increase the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes

    Författare :Yuedan Zhou; diabetes och endokrinologi Genomik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TCF7L2; rs7903146; Type 2 diabetes; β cell function; β cell survival; insulin secretion; proinsulin synthesis; proinsulin-to-insulin conversion; insulin maturation; open chromain; exon skipping; p53; TP53INP1; ISL1; MAFA; NEUROD1; PDX1; NKX6.1; PCSK1; PCSK2; SLC30A8; GWAS.;

    Sammanfattning : Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a heterogeneous disease with a multifactorial aetiology comprising of genetic and environmental factors. The common variant most highly associated with T2DM known to date is a SNP rs7903146 in the TCF7L2 gene. However, the role TCF7L2 plays in the development of T2DM was unclear. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Oligodendroglial (dys)function in alpha-synucleinopathies

    Författare :Carla Azevedo; Stamcellslaboratoriet för sjukdomsmodellering i det centrala nervsystemet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Synucleinopathies; iPSCs; oligodendrocytes; alpha-synuclein; HLA; cell maturation; immunoproteasome;

    Sammanfattning : The complexity of a-synucleinopathies, which include multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Parkinson’s disease (PD), is not entirely understood. It is known that pathological accumulation of a-synuclein (a-syn) into proteinaceous aggregates is a cellular hallmark of these diseases. LÄS MER
