1. Avidity-guided radionuclide therapy for thyroid cancer
Sammanfattning : The treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer has three main modalities: surgery, hormone suppression and radioiodine therapy. Effective radioiodine therapy requires cancer cells to be iodine avid, i.e. exhibit relatively functional iodine transport and retention. LÄS MER
2. Numerical Conformal mappings for regions Bounded by Smooth Curves
3. Numerical Conformal Mappings for Waveguides
Sammanfattning : Acoustic or electro-magnetic scattering in a waveguide with varying direction and cross-section can be re-formulated as a two-dimensional scattering problem, provided that the variations take place in only one dimension at a time. By using the so-called Building Block Method, it is possible to construct the scattering properties of a combination of scatterers when the properties of each scatterer are known. LÄS MER
4. BUILDING AN X-RAY PHOTOELECTRON SPECTROSCOPY ENDSTATION FOR OPERANDO STUDIES OF CATALYTIC CO AND CO2 HYDROGENATION REACTIONS
Sammanfattning : X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) provides an element-specific surface sensitive probe of the chemical composition in a system, and is consequently one of the workhorses of surface science and catalysis research. The obtained information on the chemical and physical state of the catalyst and adsorbates is essential in the endeavor to achieve a fundamental understanding how chemical reactions are facilitated by the catalyst. 5. Functional Role of Immune Complexes in Rheumatic and Parasitic Diseases
Sammanfattning : Immune complexes (IC) have key pathological roles in both autoimmune and infectious diseases. In this thesis functional mechanisms behind IC-driven inflammation in rheumatic diseases and tropical infections have been studied, with special focus on the contribution of autoantibodies and cytokine-inducing properties of IC.
