  1. 1. Numerical Conformal Mappings for Waveguides

    Författare :Anders Andersson; Börje Nilsson; Joachim Toft; Michael Benedicks; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; waveguide; building block method; numerical conformal mappings; Schwarz–Christoffel mapping; rounded corners method; approximate curve factors; outer polygon method; boundary curvature; zipper method; geodesic algorithm; acoustic wave scattering; electro-magnetic wave scattering; Applied mathematics; Tillämpad matematik; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : Acoustic or electro-magnetic scattering in a waveguide with varying direction and cross-section can be re-formulated as a two-dimensional scattering problem, provided that the variations take place in only one dimension at a time. By using the so-called Building Block Method, it is possible to construct the scattering properties of a combination of scatterers when the properties of each scatterer are known. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Manifold Learning in Computational Biology

    Författare :Jens Nilsson; Matematik LTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nonlinear Dimensionality Reduction; Gene Expression Data; Computational Biology; Machine Learning; Manifold Learning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with manifold learning techniques and their application in gene expression data analysis. Manifold learning is the study of methods that aim to infer geometrical structure from data sampled from manifolds, enabling nonlinear solutions to various machine learning tasks. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Phase space methods for computing creeping rays

    Författare :Mohammad Motamed; Olof Runborg; Sverker Holmgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Creeping Rays; Phase Space Methods; High Frequency Wave Scattering Problems; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the numerical simulation of creeping rays and their contribution to high frequency scattering problems. Creeping rays are a type of diffracted rays which are generated at the shadow line of the scatterer and propagate along geodesic paths on the scatterer surface. LÄS MER
