26. Catalysis in Dynamic Systems: Control within Molecular Reaction Networks
Sammanfattning : Life as we know it is based on complex networks of biochemical reactions that constantly interact within large dynamic systems. The field of systems chemistry uses chemical models to study how reaction networks – and thereby life – function on a molecular level. LÄS MER
27. Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Functionalized Olefins Using N,P-Ligated Iridium Complexes
Sammanfattning : Transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation is one of the most efficient, straightforward, and well-established methods for preparing enantiomerically enriched compounds. Over the past decades, significant progress has been made with iridium, rhodium and ruthenium complexes to asymmetric hydrogenate a selection of olefins, such as, α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives, ketones, imines and phosphonates. 28. Organic Azides : Functional Molecules and Materials
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis stems from the chemistry of the azido group, and more specifically from the unique reactivity of perfluorinated aromatic azides and how to use this reactivity to access new types of molecules to enable new applications in asymmetric synthesis and materials. In the first section of this thesis, a photoactivatable fluorescence probe is presented, where the non-luminescent azide was activated via a UV-light-promoted intramolecular N–H insertion reaction forming a fluorescence emitter. 29. Stereoselective Synthesis of Amino Alcohols : Applications to Natural Product Synthesis
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided into four separate parts with amino alcohols as the common feature. The first part of the thesis describes the development of an efficient three-component approach to the synthesis of α-hydroxy-β-amino esters. LÄS MER
30. Catalytic Amide Reductions under Hydrosilylation Conditions
Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the development of catalytic methodologies for the mild and chemoselective reductions of amides. The first part of the thesis describes the use of a Fe(II)/NHC catalyst for the deoxygenation of aromatic tertiary amides to corresponding amines. LÄS MER
