  1. 1. Textteori för läsforskare

    Författare :Christian Mehrstam; Göteborgs universitet. Humanistiska fakulteten; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Text theory; reader-response theory; reception æsthetics; systems; Litteraturvetenskap; Literary studies;

    Sammanfattning : The dissertation examines a prevalent problem in reception studies: how can we actually observe and describe the text (defined as an element that enables and restricts reading experiences) as either given and transcendent to any reading practice or as uniquely produced in each reading? The author tries to find a solution by aid of Wittgenstein's philosophy of language, Kenneth Burke's socio-rhetorics and Niklas Luhmann's systems theory. These perspectives are discussed in turn and tested in readings of a few pages on Mayakovsky and futurism taken from a textbook. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Mobile Supported e-Government Systems : Analysis of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) in Tanzania

    Författare :Gudrun Wicander; John-Sören Pettersson; Anders G. Nilsson; Peter Rönnlund; Louise Yngström; Karlstads universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : e-Government systems are considered by both governments and international organisations to improve administration and management. In Tanzania, an e-government system for education administration, EMIS, is partly implemented but shows several limitations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the Robustness of Statistical Models: Entropy-based Regularisation and Sensitivity of Boolean Deep Neural Networks

    Författare :Olof Zetterqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Deep neural networks; Noise stability; Noisy labels; Noise sensitivity; Boolean functions; Regularisation;

    Sammanfattning : Models like deep neural networks are known to be sensitive towards many different aspects of noise. Unfortunately, due to the black-box nature of these models, it is in general not known why this is the case. Here, we analyse and attack these problems from three different perspectives. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Overload Control and Performance Evaluation of Web Servers

    Sammanfattning : We are increasingly dependent on Internet as a large aspect of our daily life is now handled via online applications. Recent years we have seen several large-scale crises. This has made crisis-related research on Internet applications important. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Public computer systems, the client-organization encounter, and the societal dialogue

    Författare :Åke Grönlund; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Public computer systems; societal information systems; participation; societal dialogue; communication; information systems; Internet;

    Sammanfattning : Public computer systems (PCS) are systems designed for use at the interface between organizations and their clients. PCS intervene in client-organization relations; the questions discussed in this thesis are what role they play in the client-organization encounter, what role they could and should play, and what theories might be available to guide the development of such systems.
