  1. 21. CD93 in regulation of vascular function and tumour progression

    Författare :Kalyani Vemuri; Anna Dimberg; Pipsa Saharinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CD93; Tumour angiogenesis; Vascular permeability; Endothelial junctions; Cancer; Glioblastoma; Metastasis;

    Sammanfattning : To achieve successful vascular targeting in cancer, a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that lead to tumour vascular abnormalities is required.  The transmembrane protein CD93 is highly expressed in the vasculature of several tumours including glioblastoma and has emerged as a potential anti-angiogenic target. 2. 22. Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor-1 Function in Vasculo- and Angiogenesis

    Författare :Peetra Magnusson; Lena Claesson-Welsh; Anne Eichmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pathology; FGF; FGFR-1; VEGFR-2; PDGFR-β; endothelial cells; embryonic stem cell; angiogenesis; hematopoiesis; Patologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : During development of the mammalian embryo, spatial and temporal expression of fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their cognate receptors are vital in the regulation of a number of patterning processes. Inappropriate or decreased expression leads to severe malformations and even embryonic death. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Cardiovascular effects of growth hormone. Studies in genetically engineered mice

    Författare :Irene Andersson; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :acromegaly; autonomic nervous system; cardiovascular disease; cardiac function; vascular function; growth hormone; heart rate variability; hypertension; insulin-like growth factor-1; transgenic mice;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis was to enhance the understanding on the relationships between growth hormone (GH) and cardiovascular disease using genetically engineered mice. More specifically the effects of GH on blood pressure (BP), vascular and cardiac function, atherosclerosis and autonomic control of heart rate were studied. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Development in children born very preterm after intrauterine growth restriction with abnormal fetal blood flow

    Författare :Eva Morsing; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; umbilical artery; cognitive development; lung function; cardiovascular function; very preterm infants; Doppler ultrasound; Intrauterine growth restriction;

    Sammanfattning : Delivery of fetuses with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) with abnormal umbilical artery blood flow in the second trimester represents a clinical dilemma. So far, no evidence based management protocols are available adressing when to deliver these fetuses. LÄS MER
