  1. 26. NMR STUDIES ON STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS OF TWO-DOMAIN PROTEINS

    Författare :Houman Ghasriani; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Physical chemistry; Molekylär biofysik; CRISP-3; NMR; 3D-structure; NMR relaxation; Molecular biophysics; Prostate cancer; EGF module; PSP94; Beta-microseminoprotein; Protein S;

    Sammanfattning : The general objective of the present thesis work was to examine 3-dimensional structure as well as the motional properties of two different types of two-domain proteins by solution-state NMR. One of the major tasks of this thesis work was to investigate the domain orientation of these molecules by employing residual dipolar couplings (RDC) which can be used as orientational restraints for increasing the accuracy of protein structures determined by NMR. 2. 27. Dynamics and gene expression of growth factor receptors in human cultured skin cells : Effects of UV radiation and calcium on EGF- and PDGF-receptors

    Författare :Margareta Lirvall; Gunnar Kratz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Growth factors transmit biological signals for the stimulation of cell growth and their stimulation may be involved in turnourigenesis. It is therefore of great importance to understand growth factor receptor reactions in response to stimuli such as calcium depletion or ultraviolet radiation, which normal human cells are invariably exposed to during their growth cycle. 3. 28. The N-terminal EGF Module of Coagulation factor IX. Studies of Calcium Binding and Module Interactions

    Författare :Kristina Persson; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; coagulation FIX EGF module calcium binding interaction; Clinical chemistry; Klinisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Coagulation factor IX (FIX) is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease zymogen that circulates in plasma. Defects in FIX cause the bleeding disorder hemophilia B. FIX contains a Gla module, two Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) -like modules and a serine protease region. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Biophysical studies of cell membrane receptors for the growth factors PDGP and EGF : Aspects on lateral and aggregation

    Författare :Pia Ljungquist-Höddelius; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : When extracellular growth factors bind to their specific cell surface receptors, they elicit a cascade of biochemical events, including tyrosine kinase-mediated phosphorylation and changes in intracellular free ca2+, leading to cell differentiation and proliferation. However, direct effects of ligand-binding on the receptors are poorly understood. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Regulation of digestive organ. An experimental study on the role of CCK, Bile and EGF

    Författare :Bodil Ohlsson; Internmedicin - epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; trophic effects; total parenteral nutrition; salivary glands; pancreaticobiliary diversion; pancreas; liver; intestinal mucosa; epidermal growth factor; cholecystokinin; biliodigestive shunt; Bile; bilary tract; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; Gastro-enterology; Gastroenterologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cholecystokinin (CCK) is known to exert secretory and trophic effects on the pancreas. Its release from the intestinal mucosa is regulated by pancresic proteases in the small intestine. However, knowledge about the type of responding exocrine cells and the time course of events during stimulation with CCK is lacking. LÄS MER
