  1. 1. On CXC Chemokines in Endotoxin-Induced Liver Injury

    Detta är en avhandling från Lidbergs grafiska AB, Skurup

    Författare :Xiang Li; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ortopedi; traumatologi; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; Surgery; patologisk anatomi; Patologi allmän ; pathological anatomy; General pathology; intravital microscopy; liver damage; Adhesion; CXC chemokines;

    Sammanfattning : Leukocyte recruitment is a rate-limiting step in endotoxemic liver injury. Leukocyte extravasation is a multistep process, supported by multiple combinations of adhesion molecules and chemokine receptors. This thesis examined the mechanisms of activation, adhesion and extravascular infiltration of leukocytes in endotoxin-induced liver injury. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On the role of mast cells in chemokine-induced leukocyte recruitment

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Yusheng Wang; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chemokines; mast cells; TNF-alpha; dexamethasone; P-selectin; E-selectin; activation; Medicine human and vertebrates ; endothelial cells; adhesion; Neutrophil; Medicin människa och djur ; recruitment;

    Sammanfattning : Leukocyte recruitment is considered to playa key role in numerous inflammatory diseases. Tissue accumulation of Jeukocytes is a multi-steps process comprising rolling, adhesion and transmigration. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On Neutrophil and Platelet Adhesive Interactions in Septic Lung Injury

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Asad Muhammad; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Leukocytes; chemokines; platelets; lung; sepsis;

    Sammanfattning : Sepsis induced by intestinal perforation is a life-threatening illness and is a frequent cause of leukocyte-mediated lung injury. Although antimicrobial therapy has been the central clinical strategy for these patients, the survival rates in such patients are still very low because of their impaired host defense mechanisms. 4. 4. SIGNALING MECHANISMS IN SEPSIS-INDUCED IMMUNE DYSFUNCTION

    Detta är en avhandling från Surgery Research Unit

    Författare :Zirak Hasan; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; abdominal sepsis; neutrophil; lung; chemokines; infection; T-cells; CD44; Rho-kinase; isoprenylation;

    Sammanfattning : Sepsis and subsequent organ failure remain the major cause of mortality in intensive care units in spite of significant research efforts. The lung is the most vulnerable organ affected by early hyper-inflammatory immune response in septic patients. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mechanisms of neutrophil recruitment in septic lung injury

    Detta är en avhandling från Surgery Research Unit

    Författare :Karzan Palani; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; sepsis; infection; neutrophil; lung; chemokines; apoptosis; CD44; F-actin; peptides;

    Sammanfattning : Sepsis is one of leading cause of death despite aggressive surgical intervention and antibiotic therapies. Excessive neutrophil recruitment is a major feature in early phase with immune system dysfunction at later phase. Lung is the most vulnerable, critical and sensitive organ during sepsis process.
