  1. 1. Regulation of neutrophil apoptosis

    Detta är en avhandling från Maria Alvarado-Kristensson, experimentall pathology, Lund University, U-MAS, entrance 78, 205 02 Malmö

    Författare :Maria Alvarado-Kristensson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; General pathology; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi; PP2A; p38 MAPK; caspases; signal transduction; inflammation; Apoptosis; human neutrophils;

    Sammanfattning : The human neutrophil is the most abundant granulocyte and the major type of cell involved in an acute inflammatory response. Neutrophils are armed with various systems of enzymes, that can find and kill pathogens, but unfortunately, these "weapons" cannot distinguish between the host tissues and the "invaders. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cell cycle perspectives on breast cancer cell behaviour

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University: Faculty of Medicine

    Författare :Pontus Berglund; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; invasion; breast cancer; migration; proliferation; cyclin D1; cyclin E;

    Sammanfattning : Uncontrolled proliferation and the capacity to infiltrate surrounding tissues are two important characteristics of aggressive tumour cells. Previous observations in both colorectal cancer and basal cell carcinoma indicated that infiltrative tumour cell behaviour might be counteracted by a high proliferative activity, suggesting a coordination of these two activities at the cellular level. 3. 3. Cyclin A1 Expression and Regulation in Hematopoietic and Leukemic Cells

    Detta är en avhandling från KFS AB

    Författare :Jenny Ekberg; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancer; General pathology; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Cytology; AML; cyclin A1; apoptosis; cell cycle regulation;

    Sammanfattning : Increased expression of the cell cycle regulatory protein cyclin A1 has previously been detected in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and targeted overexpression of cyclin A1 in a transgenic mouse model initiated AML. The aim of this thesis was to further study the expression and regulation of cyclin A1 in hematopoietic cells. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Role of cyclin D1 as an estrogen receptor cofactor and the influence of hypoxia on estrogen receptor regulation, with focus on prognositic and treatment predictive features in breast cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Laboratory Medicine, Lund University

    Författare :Åsa Kronblad; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer; General pathology; breast cancer; hypoxia; cyclin D1; Cytology; oncology; estrogen receptor; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi;

    Sammanfattning : Estrogen receptor (ER) status can define breast cancer patients who would benefit from adjuvant tamoxifen therapy. However, resistance to tamoxifen is often observed and possible mechanisms may be loss or reduction of ER, dysfunctional ER- signaling and ligand independent activation of the receptor. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Proliferation, Invasion and p16 Localisation in Malignancies

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Laboratory Medicine, Lund University

    Författare :Kristina Nilsson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; Cytology; oncology; skin tumours; invasion; p16; cancer; patologisk anatomi; Patologi allmän ; pathological anatomy; proliferation; General pathology;

    Sammanfattning : Uncontrolled proliferation and invasion are two characteristics in tumour development and progression. Previous studies have shown that invading tumour cells in colorectal cancer have low proliferation in parallel to upregulation of the tumour suppressor p16. LÄS MER
