1. Cancer and calcium : epidemiological studies of cancer incidence and survival
Sammanfattning : Studies have shown that there could be an association between dietary calcium and cancer, and more specifically it has been suggested that serum calcium is involved in the etiology of cancers of the prostate. In order to explore this association we performed epidemiological studies of the association between pre-diagnostic serum calcium and prostate cancer incidence and survival. LÄS MER
2. The Extended Role of the Molecular Chaperone CCT
Sammanfattning : The oligomeric chaperone CCT is a large ATP-dependent chaperonin that consists of two rings placed back-to-back with eight different paralogous subunits with a size of ~ 55 kDa that sit in each of the two rings. The function of CCT is mainly to fold the abundant proteins actin and tubulin, components of the cytoskeleton. LÄS MER
3. The molecular chaperone CCT: Functions beyond folding
Sammanfattning : The chaperonin-containing tailless complex polypeptide 1 (CCT) is a eukaryotic ~1 MDa barrel shaped molecular chaperone, built up by eight distinct subunits and is required for the folding of the abundant cytoskeletal proteins actin and tubulin. CCT exists as an assembled oligomer, micro-complexes and as individual subunits in the cell. LÄS MER
4. "Cut and Break"-beskrivningar i svenskt teckenspråk : Barns och vuxnas avbildande verbkonstruktioner
Sammanfattning : Previous studies on children’s acquisition of depicting verbs in signed languages have chiefly studied the use of classifiers in verbs of motion and location, particularly the order in which the different classes of handshape are acquired. The age of the children in these studies have ranged from age three to thirteen, and an important finding has been that classifier constructions are not fully acquired until early adolescence. 5. Carbon Nanotubes for Electronic Packaging: Growth, Novel Devices and 3D Networks
Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have shown great potential of application in electronics because of their attractive physical properties, such as high surface-to-volume ratio, high electron mobility, high Young’s modulus, high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, etc. However, many obstacles are yet to be removed to use CNTs as building blocks in electronic systems.
