  1. 1. The molecular chaperone CCT: Functions beyond folding

    Författare :Josefine Vallin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TRiC; Chaperonin; CCT oligomer; CCT monomer; cancer; p150Glued; gelsolin; STAT3;

    Sammanfattning : The chaperonin-containing tailless complex polypeptide 1 (CCT) is a eukaryotic ~1 MDa barrel shaped molecular chaperone, built up by eight distinct subunits and is required for the folding of the abundant cytoskeletal proteins actin and tubulin. CCT exists as an assembled oligomer, micro-complexes and as individual subunits in the cell. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Structural rearrangements of actins interacting with the Chaperonin systems TRiC/Prefoldin and GroEL/ES

    Författare :Laila Villebeck; Bengt-Harald Jonsson; Bente Vestergaard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; chaperonin mechanisms; bound target protein; fluorescence resonance energy transfer FRET ; Actin; abundant eukaryotic protein; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The studies in this thesis are mainly focused on the effects that the chaperonin mechanisms have on a bound target protein. Earlier studies have shown that the bacterial chaperonin GroEL plays an active role in unfolding a target protein during the initial binding. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Biophysical studies of protein folding upon interaction with molecular chaperones

    Författare :Satish Babu Moparthi; Uno Carlsson; Per Hammarström; Bengt-Harald Jonsson; Pernilla Wittung‐Stafshede; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins are biological macromolecules that serve all functions in cells. Every protein consists of a sequence of amino acids that is folded into a three‐dimensional structure to maintain the unique information it contains and to allow the protein to perform its specific actions.
