    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with adult L1 attrition in the case of highly-educated long-term Polish immigrants in Sweden. The study sheds light on two classical issues pertaining to L1 attrition, namely what happens to a fully developed mature language system in an immigrant context, and why it happens. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Some studies have shown that the L1 mental lexicon is organized mainly on a semantic basis, while the organization of the L2 mental lexicon in the early stages of development is phonologically based, that is non-semantic, indicating a less profound lexical knowledge and eliciting a higher degree of nonnative-like associations.
