1. Villkorat förtroende : Normer och rollförväntningar i relationen mellan politiker och tjänstemän i Regeringskansliet
Sammanfattning : The relationship between politicians and civil servants is ambiguous and potentially problematic in democratic terms. 2. Long acting local anaesthetics - a study in rats
Sammanfattning : Local anaesthetics provide excellent pain relief after central and peripheral nerve blocks. However, in many clinical situations there is an insufficient duration of action to allow effective treatment of long-term pain with single injection techniques. This problem became the focus of the present studies. LÄS MER
3. Development of a protein-free fed-batch process for NS0 cells: studies on regulation of proliferation
Sammanfattning : The overall objective of this study was to investigate how NS0 cell proliferation is regulated in protein-free media. The hypothesis was that during the adaptation to growth factor-free media, animal cell lines start to produce their own autocrine growth factors to support proliferation, and after some time in a culture the effects of these factors are lost which results in cessation of proliferation. 4. CSF biomarkers reflecting beta-amyloid and axonal pathology in Alzheimer's disease and related conditions
Sammanfattning : Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers may be used to identify and monitor pathological processes in the central nervous system. CSF biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) include β-amyloid 42 (Aβ42), total-tau (T-tau) and phosphorylated-tau (P-tau), reflecting brain amyloid, axonal and tangle pathology, respectively. LÄS MER
5. The secretome of brown adipose tissue
Sammanfattning : Brown adipose tissue has long been known for its heat-producing capacity, but less is known about its possible effects as a secretory organ. This thesis summarizes information about presently known factors secreted from brown adipose tissue and about their actions. We were able to add factors to the list by the use of a signal-sequence trap method. LÄS MER
