  1. 21. Bio-inspired retinal optic flow perception in robotic navigation

    Författare :Björnborg Nguyen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; robotic navigation; active fixation; visual perception; bionics; Retinal optic flow fields; gazing; optic flow; retinal flow path;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the bio-inspired visual perception of motion with emphasis on locomotion targeting robotic systems. By continuously registering moving visual features in the human retina, a sensation of a visual flow cue is created. An interpretation of visual flow cues forms a low-level motion perception more known as retinal optic flow. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Driving in Virtual Reality : Requirements for automotive research and development

    Författare :Björn Blissing; Johan Ölvander; Fredrik Bruzelius; James Oliver; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Virtual Reality; Augmented Reality; Mixed Reality; Driver Behavior; Active Safety Testing;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades, there has been a substantial increase in the development of complex active safety systems for automotive vehicles. These systems need to be tested for verification and validation to ensure that the system intervenes in the correct situations using the correct measures. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Development of visual-motor coordination in children with neurological dysfunctions

    Författare :Şermin Tükel; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Graphomotor skills are complex perceptual-motor skills that are dependent upon the maturation and integration of a number of cognitive, perceptual and motor skills. They gradually develop through practice and instruction, and require good communication between the visual and the motor systems. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Causes and consequences of niche differentiation between color morphs of pygmy grasshoppers

    Författare :Einat Karpestam; Anders Forsman; Birgitta Tullberg; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; color polymorphism; visual predators; Tetrix subulata; differential habitat use; niche; thermoregulation; feeding preferences; stable isotopes; Evolutionary Biology; Evolutionsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I used the color polymorphic pygmy grasshopper, Tetrix subulata, as a model system in order to investigate the degree of niche differentiation between alternative color morphs that are present within a single population. First, I hypothesized that individuals belonging to different color morphs differ in their innate food preference due to somewhat dissimilar physiology, and in their actual food consumption due in part to differential habitat use. 5. 25. Emergence of words : Multisensory precursors of sound-meaning associations in infancy

    Författare :Eeva Klintfors; Francisco Lacerda; Daniel Swingley; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; language acquisition; word acquisition; auditory-visual; multisensory; sound-meaning association; distributional learning; perceptual salience; infancy; språkinlärning; ordinlärning; audio-visuell; multisensorisk; förbindelser mellan ljud och betydelse; distributionell inlärning; perceptuell prominens; spädbarn; Phonetics; Fonetik; Phonetics; fonetik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents four experimental studies, carried out at the Phonetic laboratory, Stockholm University, on infants’ ability to establish auditory-visual sound-meaning associations as a precursor of early word acquisition. Study I reports on the effect of linguistic variance on infants’ ability (3- to 20-months) to establish sound-meaning associations. LÄS MER
