  1. 1. Rhine cities - urban flood integration (UFI) : German and Dutch adaptation and mitigation strategies

    Författare :Cornelia Redeker; V.J. Meyer; Netherlands Delft Department of Urbanism Faculty of Architecture and The Built Environment Delft University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Flood management; Rhine; Germany; Netherlands; Urban Flood Integration; climate change; klimatförändringar; sustainability; hållbarhet; design; design;

    Sammanfattning : Flood Risk Management along the Rhine today combines river expanding measures and adaptive strategies with the existing defensive system to cope with the risk increase as a consequence of previous interventions and developments and fluctuations in water levels due to climate change. Differences in landscapes and urgencies and differences in planning cultures between the Upper and Lower Rhine and the Delta have also led to different strategic approaches. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Nederbördsintensitet och andra faktorer som påverkar skyfallsskador

    Författare :Barbara Blumenthal; Lars Nyberg; Jonas Olsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; urban flood; rainfall intensity; insured flood loss; flood damage function; GIS; urban översvämning; nederbördsintensitet; försäkringsskador; skadefunktion; GIS; Risk- och Miljöstudier; Risk and Environmental Studies;

    Sammanfattning : I Sverige inträffar många skyfall och intensiva regn under sommarmånaderna. Det finns inga uppenbara geografiska mönster, vilket är en skillnad gentemot älv- eller sjööversvämningar där det vanligtvis är känt vilka områden som kan komma att översvämmas vid en viss vattennivå eller ett visst vattenflöde. 3. 3. Modelling, mapping and visualisation of flood inundation uncertainties

    Författare :Nancy Joy Lim; Stefan Seipel; S. Anders Brandt; Eva A. U. Sahlin; Matthew Wilson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cartography; flood; hydraulic modelling; GIS; map; uncertainty; visualisation; GIS; hydraulisk modellering; karta; kartografi; osäkerhet; visualisering; översvämning; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : Flood maps showing extents of predicted flooding for a given extreme event have wide usage in all types of spatial planning tasks, as well as serving as information material for the public. However, the production processes that these maps undergo (including the different data, methods, models and decisions from the persons generating them), which include both Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and hydraulic modelling, affect the map’s content, and will be reflected in the final map. 4. 4. Bridging the floods - The role of social learning for resilience building in urban water services

    Författare :Åse Johannessen; Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; urban water services; climate change; adaptation; urban transformation; transition; flood risk management; water resources management; disaster risk reduction; resilience; resilient cities;

    Sammanfattning : The development of cities is increasingly threatened by a worldwide water crisis. Urban water services (including drinking water, sanitation and drainage) are facing complex and multiple pressures, which are becoming increasingly frequent and severe. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Climate Change Effects on Rainfall and Management of Urban Flooding

    Författare :Arun Rana; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Climate Change; Extreme Events; Intensive Rainfall; Urban Drainage; Intensity-Duration-Frequency; Statistical analysis; Flood Management;

    Sammanfattning : Flooding in urban basins is intensifying due to increasing urbanization and climate change and variability. This thesis presents how the effects of climate change and high-intensive rainfall on the urban drainage system and management of flooding in urban areas of were studied in Mumbai, India and Southern Sweden, including Skåne and Gothenburg.
