  1. 1. Ammonium Feedback Control in Wastewater Treatment Plants

    Författare :Linda Åmand; Bengt Carlsson; Peter Vanrolleghem; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aeration control; ammonium feedback control; biological nitrogen removal; full-scale experiments; gain scheduling control; PI control; process control; repetitive control; wastewater treatment; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Sammanfattning : The aeration process is often the single largest consumer of electricity in a wastewater treatment plant. Aeration in biological reactors provides microorganisms with oxygen which is required to convert ammonium to nitrate. Ammonium is toxic for aqueous ecosystems and contributes to eutrophication. 2. 2. Active Vibration Control of Multibody Systems : Application to Automotive Design

    Författare :Claes Olsson; Alexander Medvedev; Stephen Elliott; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Active Vibration Control; Vibration Isolation; Feedback Control; Adaptive Filtering; Saturation; Limit Cycles; Multi Body Systems; Modelling; Simulation; Non-linearity; Gain Scheduling; Structure Flexibility; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Active vibration control to reduce vibrations and structure borne noise is considered using a powerful multi-disciplinary virtual design environment which enables control system design to be considered as an integral part of the overall vehicle design. The main application studied is active automotive engine vibration isolation where, first, the potential of large frequency band multi-input multi-output H2 feedback control is considered. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Geometric Control of Thrust Propelled Systems

    Författare :Pedro Miguel Ótão Pereira; Dimos V. Dimarogonas; Jana Tumova; Panagiotis Tsiotras; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nonlinear control; geometric control; thrust propelled systems; slung load transportation; aerial tethered transportation; control of aerial vehicles; tracking and stabilization; global stabilization; bounded control; disturbance removal; distributed control; attitude synchronization; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis was motivated and inspired by the AEROWORKS project, a European research project, whose main goal was to deploy multiple heterogeneous unmanned aerial vehicles in environments where human intervention is restricted.In particular, this thesis focuses on control of aerial vehicles for the purposes of cargo transportation, an application of interest, for example, in inspection and maintenance of aging infrastructures. 4. 4. Look-ahead Control of Heavy Vehicles

    Författare :Erik Hellström; Lars Nielsen; Jan Åslund; Lino Guzzella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive control; dynamic programming; predictive control; fuel-optimal control; long haulage truck; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Information technology; Informationsteknik; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Trucks are responsible for the major part of inland freight and so, they are a backbone of the modern economy but they are also a large consumer of energy. In this context, a dominating vehicle is a truck with heavy load on a long trip. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Backstepping and control allocation with applications to flight control

    Författare :Ola Härkegård; Torkel Glad; Marc Bodson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :backstepping; control allocation; flight control; control theory; nonlinear control; reglerteknik; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study a number of nonlinear control problems motivated by their appearance in flight control. The results are presented in a general framework and can also be applied to other areas. The two main topics are backstepping and control allocation. LÄS MER
