    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes various aspects of the development of a multi-disciplinary aero engine conceptual design tool, TERA2020 (Techno-economic, Environmental and Risk Assessment for 2020), based on an explicit algorithm that considers: engine performance, engine aerodynamic and mechanical design, aircraft design and performance, emissions prediction and environmental impact, engine and airframe noise, and production, maintenance and direct operating costs.As part of this research effort, a newly-derived semi-empirical NOx correlation for modern rich-burn single-annular combustors is proposed. 2. 2. Characterisation of Nonlinear Structural Dynamic Systems in Conceptual Design

    Författare :Niclas S Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural dynamics; Model order reduction; Nonlinear characterisation; Multi-body dynamics; Frequency response functions; Multisines; Response classification; Driveline systems; Concept design analysis; Stepped-sine; Support vector machine;

    Sammanfattning : The engine and driveline systems of passenger cars generates and distributes the necessary driving power and are major contributors to vehicle emissions, noise and vibrations, etc. More environmental friendly technologies under development are expected to intensify and add new comfort related problems, since most of them affect vibration sources or system damping. 3. 3. Characterization of Shared Resource Contention in Multi-core Systems

    Författare :Jakob Danielsson; Mikael Sjödin; Stefano Di Carlo; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Multi-core computers are infamous for being hard to use in time-critical systems due to execution-time variations as an effect of shared resource contention. In this thesis we study the problem of shared resource contention which occurs when multiple applications executing on different cores do not have exclusive ownership of a shared resource. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Model-based Methods in Motion Capture

    Författare :Kjartan Halvorsen; Antonie J. van den Bogert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systems engineering; Systemteknik; Systemanalys; Systems Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the use of kinematic models and shape models to solve the problem of estimating the motion of articulated objects from image data. The data considered in the first part of the thesis are trajectories of 3D feature points (markers). In the second part, image sequences are considered. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Multi-Sensor Data Synchronization using Mobile Phones

    Författare :Jonas Wåhslén; Thomas Lindh; Jens Eliason; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wireless body sensor networks; wireless personal area network; sport technology; Bluetooth performance; time synchronization; data fusion; mobile phone application.;

    Sammanfattning : Body sensor networking is a rapidly growing technology. Today wearable sensors are used to measure and monitor e.g. pulse, temperature, skin conductance, heart activity, and movement (through GPS or inertial measurement units). LÄS MER
