  1. 1. Look-ahead Control of Heavy Vehicles

    Författare :Erik Hellström; Lars Nielsen; Jan Åslund; Lino Guzzella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive control; dynamic programming; predictive control; fuel-optimal control; long haulage truck; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Information technology; Informationsteknik; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Trucks are responsible for the major part of inland freight and so, they are a backbone of the modern economy but they are also a large consumer of energy. In this context, a dominating vehicle is a truck with heavy load on a long trip. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fuel-efficient and safe heavy-duty vehicle platooning through look-ahead control

    Författare :Valerio Turri; Karl H. Johansson; Nathan van de Wouw; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; platooning; eco-driving; look-ahead control; dynamic programming; distributed model predictive control; optimal control; autonomous vehicles; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The operation of groups of heavy-duty vehicles at small inter-vehicular distances, known as platoons, lowers the overall aerodynamic drag and, therefore, reduces fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Experimental tests conducted on a flat road and without traffic have shown that platooning has the potential to reduce the fuel consumption up to 10%. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optimal Control of Electrified Powertrains

    Författare :Martin Sivertsson; Lars Eriksson; Giorgio Rizzoni; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optimal Control; Diesel-Electric; Hybrid Electric Vehicles;

    Sammanfattning : Vehicle powertrain electrification, i.e. combining the internal combustion engine (ICE) with an electric motor (EM), is a potential way of meeting the increased demands for efficient and low emission transportation, at a price of increased powertrain complexity since more degrees of freedom (DoF) have been introduced. 4. 4. Modeling and Optimal Control of Heavy-Duty Powertrains

    Författare :Vaheed Nezhadali; Lars Eriksson; Giorgio Rizzoni; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Powertrain; transmission system; optimal control; modeling for control;

    Sammanfattning : Heavy duty powertrains are complex systems with components from various domains, different response times during transient operations and different efficient operating ranges. To ensure efficient transient operation of a powertrain, e.g. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fuel Optimal Powertrain Control for Heavy Trucks Utilizing Look Ahead

    Författare :Maria Ivarsson; Lars Nielsen; Jan Åslund; Jan Wikander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The road topography in highways affects the powertrain control of a heavy truck substantially since the engine power is low in relation to the vehicle weight. In large road gradients constant speed is not possible to keep, which would have been beneficial otherwise, and in some uphills shifting gears becomes inevitable. LÄS MER
