1. Dynamic Chemistry for Asymmetric Synthesis, Molecular Motion and Constitutional Exchange
Sammanfattning : Living matter is built on complex dynamic systems consisting of numerus biotransformations. By exploiting the adaptive and evolutive behaviors ofmolecular matter, dynamic chemistry has developed as an important tool tounderstand the organization of nonliving matter into complex living systems. 2. Tailored Reaction Media for the Synthesis of Subvalent Cluster Compounds
Sammanfattning : Different synthetic approaches and modifications to reaction media have been applied in order to find new routes to the synthesis of main-group clusters and transition metal compounds. The focus has been on the Group 15 element bismuth and the transition metal palladium. LÄS MER
3. Chlorite: Geochemical properties, Dissolution kinetcis and Ni(II) sorption
Sammanfattning : In Sweden, among other countries, a deep multi-barrier geological repository, KBS-3, is planned for the burial of nuclear waste. One of the barriers is identified as the grantic bedrock itself and in this environment chlorite is present at surfaces in fracture zones. LÄS MER
4. Pitfalls in Interpreting Umbilical Cord Blood Gases and Lactate at Birth
Sammanfattning : Acid-base status in umbilical cord blood is an objective measure of the fetus’ exposure to and ability to handle hypoxia. The objective of this thesis was to clarify some of the methodological pitfalls in interpreting umbilical cord blood gases and lactate values at birth. LÄS MER
5. Effect of elevated pCO2 and environmental oxazepam on the behavior and physiology of teleost fish
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis investigated the effect of two aquatic pollutants on the behavior and physiology of teleost fish: i) elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the context of ocean acidification and ii) low concentrations of the anxiolytic pharmaceutical oxazepam in the context of pharmaceutical pollution.Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 are lowering the pH of the oceans.
