    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis investigated the effect of two aquatic pollutants on the behavior and physiology of teleost fish: i) elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the context of ocean acidification and ii) low concentrations of the anxiolytic pharmaceutical oxazepam in the context of pharmaceutical pollution.Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 are lowering the pH of the oceans.     Sammanfattning : Fluoroquinolones (FQs) are synthetic, broad-spectrum antibiotics that target type II topoisomerases. High-level resistance is often caused by mutations in the target genes of FQs, especially in gyrA and parC. In contrast, plasmid-mediated resistance genes, such as qnr, often confer moderate levels of resistance. LÄS MER

Once released in the environment they continue to carry on their main function but instead targeting the inhabitants of the aquatic ecosystem. Antibiotics comprise a group of pharmaceuticals specifically designed to disrupt microbial biochemical processes, and might therefore in particular have detrimental effects on microbial communities in the environment.
