  1. 11. Physical Exercise in Cystic Fibrosis -studies on muscle strength, oxygen uptake and lung function in young adult patients

    Författare :Margareta E Sahlberg; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Lung function; muscle strength; exercise capacity; endurance; resistance training;

    Sammanfattning : Muscular strength, lung function and exercise capacity are internationally reported to be markedly impaired in adult patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Since 20 years physical exercise is one important part in the treatment of patients with CF in Sweden. Handgrip strength is reported to relate to nutrition and activity of daily living. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Sensorimotor control and cervical range of motion in women with chronic neck pain Kinematic assessments and effects of neck coordination exercise

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå Universitet

    Författare :Thomas Rudolfsson; Högskolan i Gävle.; Högskolan i Gävle.; Umeå universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neck pain; Rehabilitation; Coordination training; Resistance training; Postural balance; randomized controlled trial; Musculoskeletal pain; Biomechanics; Range of motion; Kinematics; Head Movements; Coordination training; Resistance training; Postural balance; randomized controlled trial; Musculoskeletal pain; Biomechanics; Range of motion;

    Sammanfattning : Långvarig smärta i nacken är vanligt förekommande och orsakar både personligt lidande och stora kostnader för samhället. Långvariga nackbesvär är vanligare hos kvinnor än hos män. Det saknas kunskap om effektiva rehabiliteringsmetoder, men forskning har indikerat att träning som förbättrar nackens koordination kan vara effektivt. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Roller skis' rolling resistance and grip characteristics influences on physiological and performance measures in cross-country skiers

    Detta är en avhandling från Östersund : Mid Sweden University

    Författare :Mats Ainegren; Mittuniversitetet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adjustable grip; blood lactate; centre of pressure; cycle length; cycle rate; economy; efficiency; friction coefficient; heart rate; normal force; OBLA; oxygen uptake; power; ratcheted wheel; ratings of perceived exertion; roller skis; rolling resistance; tangential force; time to exhaustion;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate roller ski characteristics; classical and freestyle roller skis’ rolling resistance coefficients (μR) and classical style roller skis’ static friction coefficients (μS), and to study the influence of different μR and μS on cross-country skiers’ performance and both physiological and biomechanical indices. The aim was also to study differences in skiing economy and efficiency between recreational skiers, female and male junior and senior elite cross-country skiers. LÄS MER

  4. 14. The Effects of Aerobic Exercise on Human Skeletal Muscle Adaptations to Resistance Exercise

    Detta är en avhandling från Östersund : Mittuniversitetet

    Författare :Tommy Lundberg; Mittuniversitetet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; concurrent training; endurance; gene expression; hypertrophy; muscle strength and power; protein phosphorylation;

    Sammanfattning : Aerobic exercise (AE) may interfere with muscle adaptations induced by resistance exercise (RE). Three experimental campaigns were conducted to explore the influence of AE on molecular, functional and muscular adaptations to acute and chronic RE. Twenty-nine men performed unilateral knee extensor RE preceded by AE (AE+RE). LÄS MER

  5. 15. Single limb exercises in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease feasibility, methodology, effects and evidence

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå Universitet

    Författare :Andre Nyberg; Umeå universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; elastic resistance; exercise capacity; health-related quality of life; randomized controlled design; single limb exercises; systematic review; study protocol;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. COPD is a slowly progressive, inflammatory disease in the airways and lungs, caused mainly by smoking. The inflammation leads to a narrowing of the small airways (airway obstruction) and a destruction of tissue in the lungs. LÄS MER
