    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on Peter Nilson’s (1937-1998) science fiction texts, and particularly on how narrative themes and structures in these texts are related to science as well as to the literary tradition of science fiction (SF). The primary texts are the novels Arken (The Ark, 1982), Äventyret (The Adventure, 1989), Rymdväktaren (The Space Guard, 1995), Nyaga (1996) as well as the short story “Kvinnan som ville ha barn med döden” (The Woman Who Wanted a Child With Death, 1987).     Sammanfattning : The subject of this dissertation is the so-called concrete poetry that was written in Sweden during the 1960s and, to a small extent, in the 1950s, by Öyvind Fahlström, Jarl Hammarberg, Åke Hodell, Bengt Emil Johnson, and others. The study is focused on a discussion of the forms and the ways of writing that were explored, but it also gives an account of the aesthetic-historical context – of the expanded field of the arts in the 1960s, of the early avant-garde, of related forms of writing in earlier literature, such as pattern poetry.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of the thesis is to identify the dominant legitimations of literature study in five literature textbooks for the upper secondary school in Sweden and how these legitimations are realized textually and visually. Focusing on paratexts (covers and preface), text–image relations, the representation of authorship and genre the analysis draws theoretically and methodologically upon multimodality, discourse analysis and genre theory.
