    Sammanfattning : Precarious migrant workers are today an everyday part of the Swedish labour market. They often work under conditions of vulnerability, on temporary contracts and with few rights. This dissertation examines collective actions aiming to improve the precarious conditions of three categories of workers –discriminated, seasonal and undocumented. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation deals with, magic, popular beliefs in the Witches Sabbath (in Sweden called Blåkulla), the witchcraft trials within the jurisdiction of Svea Circuit Court 1597–1720 and some aspects of the Great Northern Witch Craze of 1668–1677. The study examines the meanings of popular beliefs (folklore) in magic and Blåkulla and the actions, causes and events that actualised these beliefs. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to explain how politics in 14th century Scandinavia were structured by a set of rules or norms of conduct – rules which were neither codified nor enforced by any outside agency, yet had a very real impact on the patterns by which political action was conducted. Taking inspiration from historical anthropology, the study sets out to analyze the ways in which political tensions and relationships, primarily within the royal elite, were negotiated in various situations.     Sammanfattning : The thesis is about retribution, often exemplified by Jus talionis, the rule in Exodus 21:23-25. Retribution was the undisputed guiding principle of punishment until the 18th century when it was challenged, first and foremost by Cesare Beccaria and Voltaire. LÄS MER
