1. Intermezzon i medieundervisningen. Gymnasieelevers visuella röster och subjektspositioneringar
Sammanfattning : The starting point of this licentiate thesis is the attempt to make pupils´ perspective on school in general, and media education in particular available and visible. This is done by using a visual research strategy of video diaries, a cumulative method that draws upon students’ knowledge of video diaries from popular culture such as TV-shows. LÄS MER
2. Go with the flow : visually mediated flight control in bumblebees
Sammanfattning : Despite their small brains and tiny eyes, flying insects are capable of detecting and avoiding collisions with moving obstacles, and with remarkable precision they navigate through environments of different complexity. For this thesis, I have investigated how bumblebees use the pattern of apparent image motion that is generated in their eyes as they move through the world (known as optic flow), in order to control flight. 3. Flight Simulator Training : Assessing the Potential
Sammanfattning : Mental workload is an important concept and has been proven to be a precursor to situation awareness and operative performance. This thesis describes methods to measure mental workload through self-ratings and psychophysiological measurements. LÄS MER
4. Learning Representations for Segmentation and Registration
Sammanfattning : In computer vision, the aim is to model and extract high-level information from visual sensor measurements such as images, videos and 3D points. Since visual data is often high-dimensional, noisy and irregular, achieving robust data modeling is challenging. LÄS MER
5. Semiochemical-mediated attraction and oviposition in pyralid moths
Sammanfattning : Moths use chemical signals emanating from food to find sites for oviposition and subsequent larval feeding. By identifying these odours, novel approaches to pest management can be developed, such as monitoring of females in pest populations. LÄS MER
