  1. 11. Inhibition of acute allogaft rejection - experimental transplant studies with biological and chemical immunosuppressants

    Författare :Zhongquan Qi; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serology; Immunology; tacrolimus; MNA; leflunomide; cyclosporine; drug effects; graft survival; immunosuppression; heart; animal; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : In clinical transplantation immunosuppressive agents are used in combination with the objective to achieve additive effects and less toxicity. A large number of novel drugs are candidates for clinical introduction at this time and experiments in animal models have an important role to play. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Healing of endosseous implants with different surface characteristics in grafted and non-grafted bone : clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Måns Jungner; Stefan Lundgren; Malou Hultcrantz; Carina Lundqvist; Peter Nilsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dental implants; surface characteristics; bone graft; maxillary sinus; implant survival; oxidized surface; turned surface; sinus membrane elevation; bone formation; macrophages; osteocalcin; osteopontin; CD68; odontologi; Odontology;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: This study uses radiological and clinical evaluations of the healing of endosseous titanium implants presented with different surface characteristics in the clinical situation (paper I-III) and experimentally to describe the early bone healing in maxillary sinus membrane elevation with and without the use of grafting material (paper IV).Material and methods: In paper I, 136 patients were treated with 394 dental implants – 199 were oxidized titanium implants (Nobel Biocare TiUnite) and 195 were turned titanium surface implants (Nobel Biocare Mark III). 3. 13. Aspects on Imaging and Endovascular Treatment of Aortic Dissection and Aneurysm

    Författare :Mats-Ola Eriksson; Rickard Nyman; Anders Wanhainen; Johnny Steuer; Mårten Falkenberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Aneurysms; aorta; stents; ultrasound; colour Doppler; vascular; interventional; aortic dissection; complicated; TEVAR; EVAR; re-intervention; survival; thrombosis; false lumen; aortic remodelling; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Aortic aneurysm and dissections are potentially life threatening conditions. The advent of endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) and thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has reduced perioperative mortality and morbidity and are now established therapy methods for treatment of aortic disease. 4. 14. Corneal transplant outcome- a Swedish register

    Författare :Margareta Claesson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Corneal transplantation; Quality register; Long term follow up; Astigmatism; Bullous keratopathy; Graft survival; Visual outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Aim. The aim of this study was to present different aspects of the outcome after corneal transplantation based on data from the Swedish Cornea Register. Papers. The first paper describes the register and gives descriptive statistics and analysis of data from a two-year follow up, while the last paper presents data from a ten-year follow up. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Atrial fibrillation : endoscopic ablation and postoperative studies

    Författare :Espen Fengsrud; Anders Ahlsson; Anders Englund; Alexander Wahba; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; Bypass surgery; Cerebral ischemia; Follow-up studies; Survival; Anticoagulation; Ablation; Endoscopy; Randomized trial; Implantable loop recorder;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart failure and cardiovascular death. Initial treatment focuses on rhythm or rate control and anticoagulation after risk assessment. Catheter abla-tion (CA) is an option in highly symptomatic patients but is less effective in long-standing persistent AF(LSPAF). LÄS MER
