16. Characterising Dental Implant Surfaces by Topographical, Electrochemical, and Biomechanical Methods
Sammanfattning : Replacement of extracted teeth by dental implants was first introduced in the 1950’s. From the beginning, threaded titanium implants with smooth surfaces were used. Later on, screw shaped implants with micro-scaled roughened surfaces were introduced showing bone ingrowth and improved in vivo and in vitro results and good long term stability. LÄS MER
17. Localised corrosion and atmospheric corrosion of stainless steels
Sammanfattning : This research is focused on defining limiting conditions for corrosion of stainless steels. The aim of the first part (Papers I-IV) was to understand the role of alloying level and environmental parameters on localised corrosion in aqueous conditions. LÄS MER
18. Treatment methods for the removal of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) from drinking water : optimizing existing and exploring novel treatment techniques
Sammanfattning : Worldwide, the demand for safe drinking water is rising. As drinking water sources are increasingly impacted by anthropogenic and environmental changes it is becoming a challenge to produce safe and clean water. LÄS MER
19. Acoustic Platform for MXene Synthesis and Electrochemical Behaviour of i-MXenes in Aqueous Electrolytes
Sammanfattning : Climate Change is believed to be the greatest global challenge and on its forefront is the topic of energy. While being of extreme importance, debates over energy have become a normality. LÄS MER
20. The influence of Al alloy microstructure on conversion coating formation
Sammanfattning : The formation of conversion coatings based on Ce, trivalent Cr and Ti/Zr is triggered by the local pH increase at cathodic IM sites of the aluminium alloy microstructure. The pH gradient is created over the cathodic intermetallic (IM) sites of the microstructure and its intensity is influenced by their activity which depends on their chemical composition, their size, and spatial distribution.
