1. Exploring glycoside hydrolase family 5 (GH5) enzymes
Sammanfattning : In 1990, the classification of carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes) was introduced by the scientist Bernard Henrissat. According to sequence similarity, these enzymes were separated into families with conserved structures and reaction mechanisms. LÄS MER
2. Systematics of Eucoilini : Exploring the diversity of a poorly known group of Cynipoid parasitic wasps
Sammanfattning : Many animal species are still undiscovered, even in Sweden. This thesis deals with the wasps of the subfamily Eucoilinae (of Figitidae, Cynipoidea), a poorly known group of small parasitoids of Dipteran flies. LÄS MER
3. Discovery and investigation of glycoside hydrolase family 5 enzymes with potential use in biomass conversion
Sammanfattning : Glycoside hydrolases (GHs) cleave glycosidic bonds in glycoconjugates, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides such as cellulose and various hemicelluloses. Mannan is a major group of hemicelluloses. LÄS MER
4. Evolution and biodiversity of the Ixoroideae (Rubiaceae)
Sammanfattning : The phylogenetic relationships within subfamily Ixoroideae of the coffee family are investigated by phylogenetic reconstruction of molecular data, including regions of the chloroplast DNA (matK, ndhF, rbcL, rps16, trnH-psbA, trnS-G, and trnT-F), and the nuclear ribosomal DNA (ITS). The evolution of morphological characters within the group are inferred, with focus on characters used in classification. LÄS MER
5. Phylogeny and Taxonomy of Subfamily Zygophylloideae (Zygophyllaceae) with Special Reference to the Genus Fagonia
Sammanfattning : Members of Zygophylloideae are shrubs, shrublets and herbs of arid and semiarid areas of almost all continents, and many of the species are major components of the vegetation in their areas of distribution. A phylogenetic analysis of Zygophylloideae based on noncoding trnL plastid DNA sequences and morphological data, indicates that the currently recognised genera Augea, Tetraena, and Fagonia, are embedded in Zygophyllum.
