  1. 1. An Insight into the Critical Role of Microstructure and Surface Preparation on Localized Conversion Coating Deposition on Cast Al Alloys

    Författare :Salil Sainis; Caterina Zanella; Ehsan Ghassemali; Marjorie Olivier; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aluminium alloys; cast Al-Si alloys; conversion coating treatment; cerium; localized deposition; surface preparation; microstructure; SEM; FIB-SEM; AFM-SKPFM; Aluminiumlegeringar; gjutna Al-Si legeringar; Cerium; lokal deposition; omvandlingsbeläggningsbehandling; förbehandling av yta; mikrostruktur; SEM; FIB-SEM; AFM-SKPFM;

    Sammanfattning : The spontaneous cerium conversion coating formation over aluminium alloys is affected by the chemical process conditions, the surface preparation prior to conversion treatment and the microstructure of the underlying alloy. Most research performed until now focus only on the former whereas the influence of the latter two is poorly understood. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The influence of Al alloy microstructure on conversion coating formation

    Författare :Salil Sainis; Caterina Zanella; Ehsan Ghassemali; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aluminium alloys; cast Al-Si alloys; conversion coating treatment; cerium; localized deposition; surface pre-treatments; microstructure; SEM; FIB-SEM; AFM-SKPFM; aluminiumlegeringar; gjutna Al-Si legeringar; omvandlingsbeläggningar; cerium; lokaliserad deposition; ytförbehandlingar; microstruktur SEM; FIB-SEM; AFM-SKPFM;

    Sammanfattning : The formation of conversion coatings based on Ce, trivalent Cr and Ti/Zr is triggered by the local pH increase at cathodic IM sites of the aluminium alloy microstructure. The pH gradient is created over the cathodic intermetallic (IM) sites of the microstructure and its intensity is influenced by their activity which depends on their chemical composition, their size, and spatial distribution. 3. 3. Localized and systemic AL-amyloidosis : Aspects on protein structure, fibril formation and analytical methods

    Författare :Karen Ege Olsen; Jakob B. Natvig; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : AL-amyloidosis is a protein storage disease and one of the most common types of amyloidosis. The precursor protein is a monoclonal immunoglobulin light chain which originates from plasma cell dyscrasia in systemic AL-amyloidosis and is probably produced by a local plasma cell clone in localized AL-amyloidosis. 4. 4. Miniaturized localized surface plasmon resonance biosensors

    Författare :Si Chen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; colloidal lithography; Surface plasmon resonance; biosensing; electron beam lithography; single molecule; hyperspectral imaging; photo functionalization;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Reliable and sensitive biosensors are required for fast and accurate diagnostics. Localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPRs) in noble-metal nanoparticles possess very high refractive index sensitivity close to the metal surface and therefore constitute an attractive biosensing platform. 5. 5. Liquid metal microscale deposition for soft and stretchable skin-like electronics : Providing a soft and gentle contact to living beings

    Författare :Bei Wang; Klas Hjort; Zhigang Wu; Magnus Berggren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; laser patterning; sacrificial mask; liquid metal; strain sensor; skin movement; masking; shrink film; 3D conformal masking; liquid metal particles; soft electronics; stretchable electronics; compliant electronics; skin-like electronics; epidermal electronics; micro-heater; particle sintering; enteroendocrine cells; localized ectopic expression; wettability; flexography printing; conformal transfer printing; hydro printing; plant physiology; drosophila;

    Sammanfattning : Skin-like electronics could provide a soft and gentle contact with living beings for perceiving and delivering the information of pressure, strain, temperature with higher spatial resolution and sensitivity than our skin, without disturbing the user. Gallium-based liquid metal (LM) is an excellent material for soft and stretchable skin-like devices, since it has high electrical and thermal conductivity, flowability, and self-healable capability.
