1. Analysis of Metabolites in Complex Biological Samples Using LC/MS and Multivariate Data Analysis : Metabolic Fingerprinting and Detection of Biomarkers
Sammanfattning : To facilitate early diagnosis of diseases and elucidation of the processes involved in their development and progression, various specific compounds or ‘biomarkers’ are often monitored. The first step is to decide which compounds to analyze. LÄS MER
2. Methodologies to assess the fate of polar organic compounds in aquatic environments
Sammanfattning : Polar organic compounds (POCs) are chemicals with polar functional groups in their structure. The functional groups make the compounds hydrophilic and less prone to partition with biota. However, the knowledge of their fate is limited due to difficulties associated with their measurements. 3. Occupational exposure to fluorinated ski wax
Sammanfattning : Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) are used in the production of ski wax to reduce the friction between the snow and the ski. In this occupational study of ski wax technicians’ exposure to PFAS and particulate aerosol we have collected whole blood (wb) (n =94), air (n =84) and aerosol (n =159) samples at World Cup events from 2007-2011. 4. Individualized treatment and control of bacterial infections
Sammanfattning : Infectious diseases cause substantial morbidity and mortality, exacerbated by increasing antibiotic resistance. In critically ill patients, recent studies indicate a substantial variability in β-lactam antibiotic levels when standardized dosing is applied. LÄS MER
5. Determination of folate for food composition data : development and improvement of analytical methods
Sammanfattning : Folate is B vitamin that is required for maintaining normal blood status. Recommendations on daily intake are based on information on blood folate status in relation to folate intake and bioavailability. Folate intake from a diet is evaluated by folate content in the food consumed. LÄS MER
