  1. 1. Myocardial ischemia : As a risk indicator after an episode of unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction

    Författare :Hans Larsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The diagnostic and prognostic value of different noninvasive tests were evaluated in men below 70 years of age admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) with unstable coronary artery disease (CAD) i.e unstableangina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction (Ml). A symptom limited exercise test (ET) was performed before discharge in 740 patients. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cardiovascular disease in patients with congenital heart disease

    Författare :Maria Fedchenko; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Congenital heart disease; Myocardial infarction; Ischemic heart disease; Coarctation of the aorta; Cardiovascular risk factor;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Today, about 95% of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) survive into adulthood and the survival in patients with CHD has increased considerably during the last decades. With increasing age, patients with CHD are at an increased risk of developing acquired cardiovascular disease, such as ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction (MI). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Smokeless Tobacco (Snus) and Cardiovascular Disease : Associations with Heart Failure and Prognosis after Myocardial Infarction

    Författare :Gabriel Arefalk; Johan Sundström; Martin Holzmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Snus; smokeless tobacco; nicotine; cardiovascular disease; heart failure; myocardial infarction; mortality; prognosis; epidemiology; Epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : Previous investigations of snus use (oral moist snuff, a Swedish form of smokeless tobacco) and cardiovascular disease have generally focused on atherosclerotic events such as myocardial infarction and stroke, likely because smoking is such a well-established risk factor for atherosclerotic disease. Smokeless administration of tobacco circumvents most of the atherogenic effects of the combusted products from smoked tobacco, but it is possible that the potent autonomic and hemodynamic effects of snus and nicotine per se are detrimental for cardiovascular tissues. 4. 4. Detection of myocardial ischemia : clinical and experimental studies with focus on vectorcardiography, heart rate and perioperative conditions

    Författare :Sören Häggmark; Ulf Näslund; Michael F Haney; Mårten Rosenqvist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anaesthesiology and intensive care; myocardial ischemia; pacing; vectorcardiography; electrocardiography; heart rate; myocardial lactate; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthetics and intensive care; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; kardiologi; Cardiology;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction. Multiple clinical methods for detecting myocardial ischemia are utilised in the hospital setting each day, but there is uncertainty about their diagnostic accuracy. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Diet and Cardiometabolic Disease : Dietary trends and the impact of diet on diabetes and cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Benno Krachler; Bernt Lindahl; Göran Hallmans; Mats Eliasson; Ingvar Bosaeus; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medicine; Cross-sectional study; Cross-sectional survey; Diet; Dietary intake; Dietary survey; Food consumption; Food frequency; Milk; MONICA; Sweden; Body Mass Index; Hip circumference; Waist circumference; Diabetes; Metabolic syndrome; Cardiometabolic syndrome; Cardiovascular disease; Erythrocyte Membrane; Fatty Acids; Membrane Lipids; Fatty acid desaturases; Pentadecanoic acid; Heptadecanoic acid; Lignan; Enterolactone; Dietary Fibre; Physical activity; Education; Smoking; Alcohol; Medicin; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in most industrialised countries and in developing countries the trend in cardiovascular-related deaths is increasing. World-wide, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an emerging cause of disability and premature death. LÄS MER
