11. Innovation Diffusion in the Construction Sector
Sammanfattning : Innovation and development are the backbone of a thriving market economy. It is through innovations of various kinds that nations, industries and companies compete. Many actions in areas internationally and nationally will affect the construction sector. Research into construction innovation has attracted increasing interest. LÄS MER
12. Branch Identification in Elastic Stability Analysis
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, methods to determine the static postbuckling behaviour of elastic structures undergoing large deformations, are considered and developed. Since the governing non-linear equations usually becomes too complex to be handled analytically, the main focus has been on developing methods that can be incorporated into a numerical solution scheme, such as the finite element method. 13. Annealed Glass Failure Modelling : A Weakest-Link Approach with Statistical Analysis
Sammanfattning : Novel and increased use of glass in building construction has been made possible, as a result of methods of mass production introduced during the 20th century and advanced computational structural analyses. With modern use of glass structures, a range of demands emerge which need to be addressed in the strength design process. LÄS MER
14. Perpendicular to grain fracture analysis of wooden structural elements - Models and applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns experimental and theoretical work regarding perpendicular to grain fracture in wooden structural elements. The experimental part concerns strength tests of glulam beams with a hole. LÄS MER
15. On the Growth of Bone through Stress Driven Diffusion and Bone Generation Processes
Sammanfattning : In order to prevent or modify bone degeneration due to rest or due to diseases such as osteopenia and osteoporosis, the modeling and remodeling of bone tissue must be better understood. In this thesis it is assumed that the primary condition leading to bone growth is a change of the chemical environment caused by transport of matter resulting from stress driven diffusion. LÄS MER
