1. Exploring spatial and temporal resolution in energy systems modelling : a model-based analysis focused on the developing electricity systems
Sammanfattning : The energy system is undergoing a transition in many parts of the world with this transition being driven by several factors such as climate change, and economic and social development. Agenda 2030, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has set the direction on where development should be focussed. LÄS MER
2. Geospatial Open-Source Modelling for Integrated Energy Access Planning : New Tools and Methods to Bridge the Energy Access Gap
Sammanfattning : In 2015 the United Nations (UN) General Assembly agreed on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 goals defined by 169 targets to be reached by 2030. Amongst them is SDG 7. SDG 7 states “Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”. LÄS MER
3. Health-related Quality of Life in Head and Neck Cancer. A Five-year Prospective Multicenter Study
Sammanfattning : The aim of this prospective longitudinal multicenter study was to evaluate the health-related quality of life (HRQL) in patients with head and neck cancer at diagnosis, after one and five years in relation to tumour location, stage, sub site, treatment modality, gender and age. The first part of the study, lasting for one year, consisted of 357 patients (mean age 63 years; 72% males) that were included between 1993 and 1995. LÄS MER
4. Corporate and city GHG inventories : Impact on global CO2 emissionswhen considering electricity and CHP-based district heating
Sammanfattning : One initiative to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions involves developing standards for GHG inventories. Companies and cities (regions) can use GHG inventories to compile and report their GHG emissions. LÄS MER
5. Sustaining Sustainable Behaviours of Citizens by Creating Value in Their Everyday Life
Sammanfattning : Over 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions derive from household consumption patterns. To reach the 1.5-degree target set in the Paris Agreement, new interventions to influence household behaviours are needed. This thesis examined two areas, household electricity consumption and waste sorting, where behaviour plays a large role. LÄS MER
