11. Extended Computational Module for Tractive Effort at Rolling and Spinning Point Contacts
Sammanfattning : One category of mechanical systems that contains power-transferring point contacts is traction drive variators. These variators can be used in different concepts for Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) and in vehicle applications, in order to achieve optimum engine operating conditions leading to improved driveability, reduced fuel consumption and an increase in overall vehicle performance. 12. Magnetron Sputtering of Nanocomposite Carbide Coatings for Electrical Contacts
Sammanfattning : Today’s electronic society relies on the functionality of electrical contacts. To achieve good contact properties, surface coatings are normally applied. Such coatings should ideally fulfill a combination of different properties, like high electrical conductivity, high corrosion resistance, high wear resistance and low cost. LÄS MER
13. Fri från (efter)våldet? : Om partnervåldsutsatta kvinnors motstånd, uppbrott och stödbehov
Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates resistance strategies and leaving processes of female survivors of male intimate partner violence (IPV), and sheds light on the importance of support from social workers when survivors try to break free from IPV. It also contributes knowledge on how Swedish social workers in social service support units and women’s shelters (run by NGOs or companies) interpret and handle support needs of survivors. LÄS MER
14. Graphene field-effect transistors for high frequency applications
Sammanfattning : Rapid development of wireless and internet communications requires development of new generation high frequency electronics based on new device concepts and new materials. The very high intrinsic velocity of charge carriers in graphene makes it promising new channel material for high frequency electronics. LÄS MER
15. Antimicrobial peptides and virulence factors in meningococcal colonisation and disease
Sammanfattning : The Gram-negative bacterium Neisseria meningitidis is a transient commensal of the human nasopharynx, but occasionally causes life-threatening disease. During colonisation of its niche, N. meningitidis has to overcome innate immune defences, including the expression of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). LÄS MER
