  1. 31. Land-use competition and agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in a climate change mitigation perspective

    Författare :David Bryngelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bioenergy; Diets; Livestock; Integrated assessment model; Land use competition; GHG emissions; Partial equilibrium model; Mitigation; Food consumption; Climate change;

    Sammanfattning : Productive land for food production, bioenergy, or preservation of nature is a limited resource. Climate change mitigation puts additional pressure on land via higher demand for bioenergy to replace fossil fuels and via restrictions on deforestation—two processes that limit the availability of land for food produc- tion, and may thus also raise food prices. 2. 32. The Baltic Sea from the present to future : microbial carbon & nutrient cycling in a changing climate

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate change; coastal sediments; Baltic Sea; eutrophication; bacterial communities; 16S rRNA; metatranscriptomics; geochemical layers; diversity; nutrient- energy cycling; Klimawandel; Küstensediment; Ostsee; Eutrophierung; Bakterielle Gemeinschaften; 16S rRNA.; Metatranskriptome; Geochemische Schichten; Diversität; Nährstoff- Energiezyklus.; Klimatförändringar; bottensediment; kust; Östersjön; eutrofiering; mikrobiella samhällen; 16S rRNA; metatranskriptomik; geokemiska lager; diversitet; närsalts- och energiflöden; Akvatisk ekologi; Aquatic Ecology; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : Climate Change is caused by the accelerated increase of anthropogenic greenhousegas emissions to the atmosphere and affects all ecosystems on our planet. A resultof higher CO2 uptake by the oceans as well as an increase of heat trapped in theatmosphere leads to, for example acidification, stratification, sea-level rise, oxygenloss, and temperature increase of the earth’s waterbodies. 3. 33. Water resources in Iceland - Impacts of climate variability and climate change

    Författare :Jona Finndis Jonsdottir; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; marklära; pedology; cartography; climatology; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; geomorphology; runoff map; projection of future runoff; Environmental studies; Miljöstudier; Physical geography; hydrological modelling; trends; climate change; climate variability; Iceland; water resources; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; kartografi; klimatologi; Civil engineering; hydraulic engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Hydropower is the main source of electricity production in Iceland. In 2005, 80.8% of all electricity was generated by hydropower (7015 GWh). Hydropower production is affected both by variations and changes in discharge. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Surface energy exchange and land-atmosphere interactions of Arctic and subarctic tundra ecosystems under climate change

    Författare :Christian Stiegler; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface energy exchange; Arctic and subarctic tundra; climate change; permafrost; eddy covariance; snow cover; micrometeorology;

    Sammanfattning : The surface energy balance determines the functioning of any ecosystem on the Earth but is still poorly understood in Arctic and subarctic biomes. In a dynamic system, such as the Earth’s climate, any change in its characteristics modifies the exchange of energy, water, and greenhouse gases between the surface and the atmosphere. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Living in times of climate change. Weather-related understandings, realities, and entanglements among Guarani people in the Bolivian Chaco

    Författare :Vanesa Martin Galan; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; weather; climate change; entanglement; ontology; coloniality; hybridity; modernity; non-human agents; agriculture; partial connection; radical difference; Guarani people; Bolivia;

    Sammanfattning : Since climate change became an issue of public concern worldwide, the weather has attracted increasing attention and come to stand as a common ground for joint action between Indigenous people and governmental and non-governmental actors in the Bolivian Chaco. Despite becoming a common cause, the management of weather through mitigation and adaptation strategies takes place under ontological differences and power imbalances. LÄS MER
